Sorry about the fact that we have been a bit late with some of the reviews of the weekend before. But with the Champions League review and all the articles related to this we couldn’t come to the other reviews. And one could say: another day, another game but not another ref and this really is a coincidence….

Next in our reviews we have Bolton – Manchester United. Ref at the Reebok was Marinner.

At the end of the day a very comfortable win by MU. The ref was  weak at the start of the game. K. Davies the usual himself kicked Cleverly off the field with a tackle coming from behind and didn’t get a yellow card for this.  An experienced ref like Marinner should know his players and should cut it out from the first moment. By not doing this K. Davies could stay on the field later on as he tried to kick someone else off the field.

This was one of the few times the ref gave something to Bolton. Not saying that he tilted the game but it was obvious that in case of doubt MU would get the benefit in this game. But there was not much to tilt and certainly when Davies was taken off the field the game became rather easy.

But the ref got most of his important decisions right seen over the 90 minutes so credit for that.  However the final score overall is lower because he did missed rather a few things, too many to my liking anyway.  Almost 1 on 4 decisions was wrong.

  1. I know this is not the articles waited with the biggest anticipation but for our general numbers we need to publish our reports and make them visible so that people can disagree with our report.

Another 2 reviews to come of the games of the weekend before today. And that would mean 6 games reviewed in one weekend by our team. But as it is time consuming it takes a while before the reports are ready.

  2. I find it interesting how often players get booked for fouling him and perhaps as a result how little Rooney gets fouled. Only one foul on him in this match – no booking though for it.

  3. Walter and other reviewers, I, for one, enjoy reading all the ref reviews, not just for the Arsenal matches. I hardly see any of the other matches, though, and I suppose that’s the same for most people here, meaning fewer comments. But rest assured, I appreciate all the work the ref review team puts into it and I am looking forward to reading the ref reviews of Tottenham – Liverpool and ManU – Chelsea.
