This is the week that we play Marseilles, plus we have a loanee at Lorient, and on this site, and the Arsenal History site, we like to keep an eye on Lyon as old-boy Remi Garde (tipped by some – well, me, actually) to be our next manager, is plying his trade as manager.

Joel Campbell is in France playing with Lorient.  They were away to Stade Rennes on Sunday and lost 2-0.   Joel played the full game. In fact it was a fairly awful weekend for loan players since the only winner was Almunia at WHU.  Most of the loanees didn’t even get a game.

Lyon did however beat Nancy 3-1 while Marseille had a 0-0 draw at Toulouse.  Both sides had a player sent off and  Marseille fall back to 15th in the table.

Here’s the French league table.   In case you have missed the news PSG are taking on the role of Man City in France, being sponsored by money from the middle east in no uncertain terms.

  1. That’s now up – we can only do a game preview really when we get an indication of who is fit and who has travelled. That’s in now, so the preview is on the site.
