That headline tells you the bad news.  The good news is that the reserves beat  Fulham 2-0 in a behind closed doors game.

Oghuzan Ozyakup scored after 3 minutes, Sanchez Watt got the other one in the second half.    For young Mr Watt that is six goals in seven games.  Arsenal are half way down the league, but have played one fewer games than the clubs above them.  A win would put them in second – still a distance between WBA but an improvement.

Ryo went off in the 34th minute – no details of the injury are available yet.

  1. Can you please tell us what’s happening with Bellerin and Toral, if you know anything at all. The last we heard of them was when they were signed from La Masia!

  2. Both toral and Bellerin are playing with the Reserves or under 18’s on a regular basis.

  3. Bloody dumb decision to play such a good player in pointless reserve games. Waste of talent and now it has caused injuries. Wonder what’s going on in the minds of those reserve coaches.

  4. Tony, I just heard news that Ryo has sprained his left ankle and will be out for three weeks. Sad thing happened to our wonderful kid. After watched him several times, I start to think that he’s not ready for PL game, or perhaps too early to rush him. I can see his struggling physically. I’m not denying his talent, not at all but he seriously need to build up his physical. Play him in reserves games will be a good experience too for him, and maybe CC game. I think we still have enough winger at the moment. No rush on him. SA Gunner-i’m not sure whether you’re following Arsenal U18 or Arsenal Reserves game, but Toral and Bellerin played quite well, not a regular starter but love to see more from them in future.
Tony-please entertain us with your article during this interlul break, I think I will die with this boredoms..hahaha

  5. I think that it is common for reserve players like Bellerin and Toral to become very quiet for a while as they are inducted into the Arsenal approach, getting their strength up, training every day. Many players go through this process and don’t get many games until they finally break through, or go out on loan. As far as I know both are still at the club going through this process.
