  1. Too many figures. Better would be a brief commentary with link to the figures for those who can be bothered to look.

  2. In general a rather poor score from the ref.
One could call this a typical Probert-Arsenal game. Not that he had to do anything extraordinary like last season against Fulham.
But this time the score was more favourable to stay under the radar.
It was more every 50/50 call going for Norwich.

  3. I have a problem with the “Correct for” statistic. If either side concedes a lot more throw ins, goal kicks, fouls, etc than the other, they you’ll end up with a huge difference which just shows possibly the more lively side, if anything at all. You don’t really get any intelligence from the “Correct for” stat.

I think a better way to implement it would be to have it similar to the “fouls committed vs. fould penalised”. In other words, as a fraction of the total calls for that side.

Example, in this match I got the following stats:
Incorrect calls “from ARS” – 9
Correct calls “from ARS” – 49
Total number of calls “from ARS” – 58
    Correct percentage – 84.5%

Incorrect calls “from NOR” – 8
Correct calls “from NOR” – 70
Total number of calls “from NOR” – 78
    Correct percentage – 89.74%

In other words, you should examine bias based on the number of calls for/against a team compared to the total number of calls for/against the same time…not the number of calls for/against the other team.

I’m not even sure if I did the calculations properly…or even if I’m interpreting your results properly because when I brought up all the incorrect calls, I got 17 like the ref reviewer, but there were 8 calls “from NOR” and 9 “from ARS”. Is it that there can be 2 calls “from ARS” and one can be for ARS and the other against ARS? Sorry if I wasted your time but let me know what you think.

  4. I think, sometimes these reviews are getting heavily biased against referees. For instance, first min incidence of defender being fouled near his penalty area. The referee has identified the foul on our player. He waves for play to continue. Even if it is not an advantage, you are giving him 2 wrong decisions of 3 weight which is not justified. IMO, he sees we have control of the ball. If any norwich player tries to attack the ball and take it away, he will whistle for the foul. It is such a small incident. And for that referee is penalized more than he would be for a wrong penalty decision/ red card (which is weight 5).

I admit he should have given freekick but more than a wrong decision, it was just opinion and in no way, harming Arsenal for that matter.

I do like to read your reviews, but % stats tend to shift towards extreme because of things like this which imo hampers credibility of all the hard work you are doing.
