FOR AULD LANG SYNE – a day late

In keeping with the happily festive mood for Gooners everywhere after our 2-0 win yesterday, and pursuant to my ignominious ruining of the 12 Days of Christmas ditty last 25th, I now submit a beloved traditional New Year’s or Hogmany  tune , slightly revised to suit the Arsenal;

Should old abuses be ignored,
and Wenger still get fined ?
Should old outrages be forgot,
and the Gunners kept in line ?

CHORUS:

For butchered legs and limbs, my dear,
for refs who are so blind ,
we’ll win a cup of Football yet,
for Ozil we did sign.

And surely they’ll buy any ref !
and surely I’ll rue mine !
And we’ll take a dose of fixing yet,
for Riley thinks that fine.

We Gunners run about the pitch,
and  kicked about like swine ;
But we’ve suffered many a broken foot,
since Webb with Sir Alex dined .

We loyal fans and Gooners dream,
from first kick past half time
But soon our fate will have been sealed
 since justice will decline.

And there’s a hand in Theo’s back !
And poor Jack shirt is twine !
And Wenger is still raging yet,
for it all evens out in time.
