The Untold ref review: Bolton – Man City

By Ref Reviewer 04

I did the review of the game Bolton Wanderers against Manchester City. The leader of the pack was Mike Jones. Just one word if you want to carry on: incredible at times. Really was.

For the visibility of the site I left out the last column. I hope it reads a bit better and if you want to how the weight points are made up it is 1 for the regular fouls, 2 for yellow cards and 3 for goals, penalties and red cards.

If we ever get this ref at Bolton we will have another leg broken. He let them kick all day long. There should have been two players sent off from Bolton. Numerous yellow cards should have been given and the ref just waved it away, talked a bit against the player who just did what they were doing all day long: trying to kick the shit out of Manchester City.

And just look at the wrong calls he made…… Maybe Dogface could answer my question: is he just a home ref? Does he have anything against Manchester City? Or is he a Bolton fan?

A very poor performance from the ref on many dangerous tackles. His relative high score is because there were so many fouls that at the end of the day even a blind man with a whistle in his mouth and blowing at random would have made the same score. Maybe.

  1. Keep up the great work. The only reason there are not too many comments is because it is not Arsenal related. Don’t be put off by that at all. All this will be very useful come the end of the year 🙂

  2. Wow! Nearly 100 entries for offences in this match! I didn’t see the match, but the ref surely needed to get the match under more control by dishing out a few cards, preferably in the first half, and of course issuing red cards for serious foul play for potential injury causing tackles of the likes of Robinson’s. Didn’t Robinson also make a bad lunge on Theo or Diaby last season?

  3. Yes we appreciate it. Funny how those who highlighted at the back end of last season how we couldn’t form a theory(hypothesis) of corruption within the referee circles based on solely arsenal games have not come out to acknowledge you and your teams effort. Keep it coming and I very much enjoy the summaries at the end. Cheers

  4. I think all our ref reviewers understand that the not Arsenal related matches will not get as many comments as the Arsenal matches.

Most of us haven’t seen the games completely so it is hard to comment on those things.

But like you say this is important for getting a total picture at the end of the season.

  5. Walter,
This truly important report should be shared with ManShitty fans to show that what UA is doing is also in THEIR interest. This is a stepping stone toward an alliance of fans that care about putting football and fair play in the same sentence. Again, a poster child for video replay or any other remedy for such outrageous “coincidental” bad calls on a “bad day” To me, there is a beneficiary of such injuries in this year of the Rednose XX; but only a comparison – which I hope you will begin to do as a half-season report – of calls/non-calls for ManUre versus all others – will begin to show. Perhaps, if the numbers are really heavily skewed, then a league-wide appeal on the basis of these ref-reports could issue forth into a looooong overdue petition by fans, league-wide, for fair play and measure to promote it. Let’s admit it, the knowledge of things forces those who know to confront the choice: to act or not to act. That, Hamlet meant, is the real question.

  6. Saw the game Walter and share your fears. Excellent report but our concerns not shared by the press. They are useless.
