The 128 players tipped to be coming to Arsenal, by a journalist near you.

By Sir Hardly Anyone

The re-opening of the pubs has been good for publicans but bad for those people seeking some real live news of who if anyone Arsenal might sign, because as the pints keep on pouring down the throats so the names just keep on rolling out.

Six more players to join Arsenal making the total number of players supposedly on their way now an all time record of 128!

As for the updates this week we have just four.  Lots of the old names are going round and round but rarely with anything new to say about the player.  But updates do take a bit of thinking which is why they are thin on the ground.

So here we are with the latest table.  It is already an all-time record for journalists to have invented 128 players who are coming our way.   Will there be more?

Well, traditionally the players who are actually coming to Arsenal are not “discovered” by  the media until a few days before they arrive – so there could be.

As for what is missing?   Well, it is our old friend “Spotted at the airport”.  A few years ago half of the football playing population was spotted at the airport.  The we did our spoof “spotted going round the M25” and those bloggers and journalists (I use the word lightly) felt affronted and dropped that one.

Here’s the list.  All 128 of them.

  1. Willian Coutinho Gabriel In AMN Kolasinac Sokratis Torreira Guendouzi Out Willock and Nelson loan

  2. We need to rid ourselves of the Leech first , which we can forget as he’s announced today he’s not going anywhere until he’s bled the club dry

  3. Rudulf

I’ve posted this article from the BBC before that includes comparitive stats a readers poll before, but you seem to be a little obsessed so here they are again.

WHO IS THE PREMIER LEAGUES BEST EVER GERMAN ?

    Mesut Ozil 37%
    Michael Ballack 25%
    Jurgen Klinsmann 12%
    Leroy Sane 10%
    Jens Lehmann 8%
    Dietmar Hamann 6%
    Ilkay Gundogan 2%

    And why:

    Player Appearances Goals Assists

Robert Huth 322 Mesut Ozil 33 Mesut Ozil 54

Dietmar Hamann 268 Klinsmann 29 Leroy Sane 28

Mesut Ozil 184 Uwe Rosler 29 Dietmar Hamann 22

Mertesacker 156 Leroy Sane 25 Christian Ziege 18

Jens Lehmann 148 Robert Huth 21 Hitzlsperger 17

There are tons of articles out there showing just how brilliant Ozil is, as I have shown before.

    Honestly Rudolf, give it up.

  4. Rudolf,

I find it amazing how so many people allow themselves to judge what happen when they know zilch.
We have no ide what is going on.
What we know is that after the attempted mugging, neither Ozil nor Kolasinac came back to the level they were.
To me all this looks like some sort of PTSD.

Mustafi was able to get over the systematic hatred he was receiving – thanks to his grit, Arteta’s trust and probably the fact that he came back in ghost games. His character is such that he made it. Same thing seems to have happened for Granit. Each player is different. Some need more love from the fans then others. Gues many fans think insults, bullying and criticism are excellent motivational tools.

We have no idea what the dynamics are between Ozil and Arteta, between Ozil and his teammates, between Ozil and management. Intrestingly as well. no one ever talks about his work with charities.

How thus you think you can call Ozil names when if I were to do the same for you you’d be (rightfully) angry at me is a mystery to me.

Why don’t you just go to his front door, ring and tell him the nice things you think, man to man, face to face ? Guess the comfort of anonimity unleashes some things in you.

I wish he’d find his mojo back, because with the forward line we have…he’d be the perfect launchpad.

  5. You are of course both right ( to a point ) I like others am frustrated by the current situation.
Ozil in his day was undoubtedly a fantastic player , but has now lost his way. What timing and execution by Real Madrid truly prophetic.
Although Grealish will never realise the dizzy heights Ozil did how I would much rather we had some who would likewise bring some passion commitment and a fair amount of skill , presently I contend a far better option.
Oh why I wonder why doesn’t the once talented Ozil take on a new challenge and try to discover his once lamented prowess, his wages would no doubt be Part financed by AFC surely this would be a better outcome than idling the remaining time of his contract playing reserve team or possibly no team football at all.
As you say no one knows for sure But the picture sure doesn’t look that good

  6. Rudolf

Now why didn’t you just say all that in the first place?

I’m not saying I agree with every word you say but it’s your opinion and a perfectly valid explanation of why you have that opinion.
