It’s all gone wrong, and we need to tell them NOW!

By Bulldog Drummond

So now how do we feel?   Well, pretty miserable and fed up and all that stuff.  No one is actually saying that we spent more than anyone else in the summer because well, the way to improve the team is to buy lots and lots of players, that’s the mantra of the journos and their camp followers.  And that is a bit embarrassing for them because that is what we did and it didn’t really work very well. At least not well enough to win at the weekend.

Of course Football London there from the off with
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang accusation made after £36m Arsenal deal
I don’t know what he is accused of but there’s an accusation to be made.  And even when we have the right players it is the manager’s fault… according to the Standard
  • Saka looks the real deal for Arsenal as Arteta misses big opportunity
But hey that’s the wrong player because we all know, well at least the Metro knows…
  • Darren Bent criticises Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s form since penning new Arsenal deal

And if there is nothing else to moan about then it’s back to Ozil

  • Arsenal chief explains Mesut Ozil’s absence with top earner likely to miss Premier League squad (Football.London)
And now Tony Adams weighs in.  I like Mr Adams; when I have met him he has smiled, been kind, courteous, pleasant, and allowed us to take pictures standing next to him, but I do wish he wouldn’t criticise Arsenal players
  • Adams criticises two players as he outlines Arsenal ‘problems’ (Football365)
  • Adams disagrees with Arteta, says Arsenal have ‘problems’ with regular starter (Team Talk)

Although at least the Mirror says he has a solution as well as talking about the negatives

  • Adams identifies Arsenal problems after Man City loss and offers Arteta solution (Mirror)

And of course we are back to the injuries too

  • Arsenal in anxious wait over Holding injury after Man City withdrawal (Evening Standard)

Yes and you know it is Arsenal because there are injuries.  But as we keep asking, why?  Why when Mr Wenger was the cause of the injuries as we were told over and over and over and over.  Why now he is not there do we still get them?

  • Arsenal duo and Aston Villa midfielder pull out of Scotland squad (FAWSL)
  • Will injuries determine how far Arsenal go this season? (Suburban Gooners)
But this is all a bit namby pamby isn’t it?  Surely these whinging whining old what nots can do more.  (The Scotland squad is for the women’s team)
  • At £250k-a-week, Arsenal man needs to start firing after another abject display at The Etihad – TBR View (The Boot Room)

That was also in Arsenal FC news.  Hang on though, can’t we be more personal?

  • Aubameyang criticised for “massive drop off” since signing new contract (Mirror)

But maybe it was just the tactics…

  • Arteta’s big game gameplan doesn’t pay off – this time (She Wore A Yellow Ribbon)

And while we are at it, lets knock the manager…

  • Andy Cole thinks Arteta was ‘very disrespectful’ to one Arsenal player against City (HITC)

And some I just don’t understand

  • Arsenal tipped to still be players in major transfer saga (CaughtOffside)
Sometimes though we just make mistakes…
  • ‘Absolutely everything’: Boss raves about £27m ace Arsenal shipped out earlier this month (HITC)
And after all those players we could have signed, we got the wrong one
  • Micah Richards questions summer Arsenal signing (The Sport Review)

Away from Arsenal there is one that I really love and it is this from the Telegraph: “Gareth Bale’s Tottenham return was pure romance”.  So they are three up with about 20 minutes to go, Bale comes on and they draw 3-3 and thats romance?

But there was one lovely thing from Mourinho in the papers that I really did enjoy.  He said that Tottenham were not psychologically strong enough.  Does that mean you can think your way to victory?  If so, we have football by telepathy.  Sounds fun.

  1. Season 2019- 2020

    1 Liverpool (C) 38 32 3 3 85 33 +52 99
    2 Manchester City 38 26 3 9 102 35 +67 81
    3 Manchester Unt 38 18 12 8 66 36 +30 66

We’ve played 5 games, won 3, lost 2. The 2 we lost were at the runaway champions of last year and the clear runners up. We wasn’t brilliant but neither were we embarrassed. It happens at these places and there’s absolutely nothing to be worried about. WE currently sit above Spurs Man City and Chelsea but hey, they’re all still miles better than us, obviously. Despite this the media have to make something of it, which is not fine but that’s what they do.

What shouldn’t happen is the likes of Adams, who’s supposed to love the club, joining in. Not only him but our own bloggs. What is it with these people?

  2. Headline from Football London article tonight:-

“Arsenal’s 25-man Premier League squad confirmed – and there are eight major omissions”

I read the article three times and the only omissions mentioned were Özil and Sokratis, and they couldn’t spell Özil correctly.

My maths is pretty good, so I felt justified in asking – “Where are the other six omissions, major or otherwise?”. I fear that I may never know.

On the website they have an “IPSO regulated” logo.

We live in a crazy world.
