Manning the barricades

 .
From The Brickfields Gunners Blog  .
.
I started writing this at work as a comment to Blacksheep’s fine “Don’t shoot the messenger but we’re in a funk” article, but it mutated and became this . And  in the meantime Tony  had posted his article on the same subject . So without further adieu , here is my vision on what will be going down this weekend.
.
Let me see if I got this right – there is going to be a protest march before the Norwich game by the so called  and incensed alleged Arsenal ‘fans’, who I suppose will be bearing banners and buntings; black scarves and garbage bags; shouting oft repeated silly and stupid slogans ; marching for disunity and what else not, and who, in most probability  …..
.
a. Were never ever  going to attend the match anyway .
b. Are not real Arsenal fans to start with .   DUH !      ?
.
c. Are not season ticket holders nor regular attendees .   Have never contributed in any gainful way to the club, and  most definitely not financially .
.
d. Have no geographical, historical , emotional or familial ties to the club or the area. Nor any feelings of goodwill and camaraderie .?
.
e. Are joining in the masses  just for a lark , or  just seeking attention or their 15 minutes of fame . Stupidity, especially on the Internet lasts forever !
.
f. Want to bask in, and breathe in all that ‘toxic’ atmosphere that abounds . Well according to the ‘experts’ anyway. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if  these people produce more ozone  layer depleting ‘hot air ‘ than those farting cows in New Zealand !  ?
.
g. Are free, unemployed, have really nowhere to go, or its real near the pub where they always hang out.  ?
.
h. Are  apparently serious and truthful, but naive Facebook , blog and Youtube commentators and reporters , who are reporting it as it breaks. Do check out their selfies .     ?
.
i. Are disgruntled  minority shareholders who had enough of the ‘fat cat ‘club owners, who they feel are draining the clubs coffers . They are now ready to take the club to the next level .  Well , hopefully not down to theirs !   ?
.
j. Just hate  the Americans, Russians and especially the French. And the Germans , Belgians , the Swiss, the  Italians, and those dolphin killing Faroe Islanders   ? , and the whalers of Japan ,? .    Come to think of it that last lot are right!
k. Want all Americans out, especially after Obama’s recent Brexit comments. Aston Villa ‘s Randy Lerner  to start with . ?
 .
l. Want Silent Stan to free the golden  purse strings and spend ‘their’ fucking money, that he had meticulously  and diligently accumulated by his own hard work and acumen. Terms that are alien to most of them.
.
m.  Want Stan to stop living up to his name and be more vocal to gee up the crowd not quite unlike the manner of other owners like this weekend’s opponents’ Delia Smith , with her,  “A message for the best football supporters in the world: we need a 12th man here. Where are you? Where are you? Let’s be ‘avin’ you! Come on !”
.
n.  Want Stan out and to bring in that jolly roly-poly Usbecki-Russkie. Or any one  or more from among that long list of Panama Papers ‘investors’.  The EPL  is after all a huge money maker, without all them pesky restrictions and questions!
.
o. Want that French manager out, and to bring in another world class replacement, whom they will treat with  proper and due respect.., if , and only when he wins trophies.  And plenty pronto  at that too. Apparently works at other clubs .
.
p. Want to kick out all the ‘deadwood ‘players who are nicking a living, to clear the way for better World Class  players who are dying to join us.
.
q. Want a 20 points a season saving World Class goalkeeper , as a further  improvement or as a replacement for the 10 points a season Petr Cech.
.
r.  Want at least 2 WC monster DMs and 2 WC 30 goals a season strikers. Pay them well enough and they’ll even agree to warm the bench.
.
s. Want the team to play the traditional English  ‘up and at them’ football like the soon to be EPL Champions Leicester . None of that tippy tappy crap that seems to have failed Arsenal and Barca of late.
.
t. Yearn for that spirited and bull dogged ‘1-0 to the Arsenal’ play which was so fashionable under George Graham .  With the Adams’ arm waving .
.
u. Are actually supporters of that much maligned organisation known as PIGMOB, in disguise, who they feel are getting an  improper  media bashing from the ‘other’ Arsenal fans.  The last count showed 98 %  correct decisions. You can counter check it on their  regularly updated website. If you can find it!
 .
v.  Are speaking out and getting back at that perceivedly deluded group of steadfast fans known as the AKBs, as well as those zany  and  crazy  Knights Untolders , from the house of Attwood  . Sorry , your grace ! ( Too much of Game of Thrones , I ‘m afraid !)
???
.
w.  Are really mischievous trouble making Spuds fans who are now suddenly very anxious that  St. Totteringham’s Day and Ground Hog Day are  to be forever and synonymously entwined and enshrined in stone.  Even  God has given his blessing to Spud Bashing ! At least in North London .
 ? ? ? ? ? ?
.
x.  Some bloody silly foreigners high on legal medicinal marijuana who were cheated by unscrupulous scalpers and  were sold old Mardi Gras glass beads , and told that some really  big tits will be  prancing about at that corner .   ? ?   ?
.
y.  Rumours abound that another  massive junior doctors protest march  planned this weekend in London may be mistaken  the media as a march by ‘them’ morons , or that  it may be purposely be hijacked by  deceit to pass by that area .  ?   ?
Some fake road closure / road works / road diversion signs, and these hard working colleagues of mine may be diverted inadvertently to ‘bolster ‘ the handful of pathetic excuses for humanity .
.
But by Aesculapius ‘ serpentine staff and Hippocrates ‘ beard – it ain’t  ever going to work !
.
What those fools don’t know is that there is to be no use of any electronic device to pass messages between the doctors , to prevent   hacking by the authorities of the intended plans , routes and other particulars .  All messages are to be hand written , on  special prescription pads  and only  in Medical terms and codes that almost cannot be deciphered .    ?
Ask  any pharmacists ,  or the  CIA , or the  FBI ,  or members of  the Kremlin or the remaining members of the  old East German Stasi – they couldn’t ! It is said that many are still in therapy !?
z.  Some  visitors from the Commonwealth , on their first visit to  England ,  being cheated by those same scalpers ( damn scallywags !)   and diverted to that nearly deserted area with the  fake promises of being invited  to  having high tea with HRH , the Queen  on account of her 90th. birthday .?     ?   ?    =   ?       ?
.
All these were revealed to me in a swirling mist of smoke and mirrors that blows up from  my old and trusty crystal ball . ?
.
Lets see what transpires this weekend . Me ? Well I ‘ll just be having  me feet up in front of the telly (sound off , of course !) and enjoy me bottle of Chardonnay , and shout me little  heart out for the team  I love and support . WOO HOO , HOO !
UP THE GUNNERS !
.
What about you ?  Do be a dear  then and drop us a  wee line .  Don’t be nasty now !  Ta .
Luv ,
.
Brickfields Gunners .

nb – In truth any not  really sure who to support in the  Red Devils vs Foxes game!

  1. To be fair, the guy who sits behind me in the East Upper, is a season ticket holder and attends every match, is 100% anti-Wenger, so there are some in the stadium.

I’m just not sure how we ever manage to measure how many

  2. I’m a season ticket holder.Have been for 30yrs as have the people who all sit around me and all want him out.
I want Mr Wenger to walk gracefully.
    Sorry about that!!
Also I have been to every cup final(and I was at Anfield in 89) at home and abroad in that time.
I’ve been at the club through highs and lows but believe Arsenal have lost their identity at the moment and change is required.
I love my club but let people have opinions please.
    Dave Dixon

  3. You know – I would have liked to read this article from start to finish, but as soon as I got passed the first few a / b / c and saw the tone – can best be described as condescendingly patronizing and insulting, I realised I had better things to do. And now I wasted 3 minutes replying…..
Really, maybe you can’t imagine that Arsenal might be a better place without the Wenger of the last few years, but thousands of devoted fans can. By all means let’s discuss and debate but keep it mature and realistic.

  4. Dave, of course people can have their opinions. I think the problem comes with the fact that there are lots of anti-Wenger websites where anti-Wengerians can slag him off all day long, but precious few pro-Wenger sites, so it gets a bit painful when the anti-Wengerians feel they have to propagate their message here as well.

I think the other point I personally feel is that although the likes of you and I have been going to matches for years and years and have drawn our own, different conclusions as to what next, the issue of “how on earth do we make sure that who comes next is going to be an improvement” is one that is rarely debated anywhere and we are finding it hard to have that debate without much abuse flying around.

  5. This is a very patronising article. I have supported Arsenal for fifty nine years and have huge regard for Arsene Wenger but I do thnk it is fair to protest on Saturday should you feel the need. I have two season tickets and will not sully a game which could lead to us finishing second in the league with an in- game protest but I want to take issue with one part of this ultra- patronising rant.
Stan Kroenke inherited a lot of money, married into more and has ploughed none of it into Arsenal. He is a very occasional visitor to the Emirates and would struggle to name the first- team squad or the history of our great club.
It is Kroenke’s ownership that is my concern and I will protect with every breath in my body the right of supporters who pay their money to support the club and wish to express dissatisfaction. Kroenke is a far from optimal owner and I believe Wenger has become his fall- guy. Please don’t let yourself be lured into thinking that this mediocre US sports entrepreneur with a string of underachieving franchises is a suitable owner for our great club. He is not and I hope he realises that the bulk( yes the bilk) of true Arsenal fans would prefer a more involved owner who is ready to invest more into the club rather than provide spurious consultancy for sums of money which deplete our financial reserves.

  6. Brilliant
Thank you for this article BG I could not stop laughing after the first few lines and you have really said it all so thank you.

The last time I looked this site was pro Arsenal Pro Wenger so why do people insist coming on this site and insist on their anti Wenger rants. As Tony has said this is an Arsenal site who supports team and manager so if people do not like what is on here don’t come.
I would never in a million years go to a anti Wenger site and waste my time and energy, but we get them on here just to start up argument’s. Hope we have a great game because that is what matters mostly so good luck guys.

  7. @Henry Root

“It is Kroenke’s ownership that is my concern”

And mine. Just how much has he taken out of the club?

  8. Thanks for replying Tony,

I think debate is great and would encourage such differing conversations. However I think sometimes change is required in life and now is the time.
Im also aware we cannot take things for granted but must look to the future and not stagnate with the dated tactics Mr(yes Mr! ) Wenger seems to deploy.Ask the fans of B Dortmund or Real Madrid or Juventus about occasional change and I’m sure your minds may be refreshed.
One last thing, the gentleman who has just penned the above article is extremely condescending and you would be better off rid of people like that.
The vast majority of Arsenal supporters are intelligent and quite articulate so please let everybody have their say!
    Dave Dixon.

  9. Brickfields Gunner.
shouldn’t I think the UK society or citizens, are a lawful free society with officially entrenched press freedom and with individual or collective lawful right to free expression and also adherents of human rights?

In as much as you have the right to patronize the Boss lawfully as you like, do you also think in a highly civilised Western Country like the Great Britain, you believe the peoples lawful rights there should be curtailed and their lawfull freedom of speech be gagged? And also restrict or stop their lawful protes?. Should that be allowed to happened,(difficult) wouldn’t it be a great mockery of the values of Western Democracy?

  10. Dave,
If you would see the abuse aimed at Wenger and our contributors then you would find this article very light hearted.
Most of the abuse is filtered out of course but I wouldn’t call that intelligent and articulate.

  11. I always enjoy BG posts as they are funny and tongue in cheek,
When the day has not been great you know at least your going to have a laugh when reading his post and that is a compliment to him and his writing. Long may it continue.

  12. Will take your comments on board Walter,
However I am still of the opinion that change is required to move forward in the near future.
Understand this could lead to disappointment but willing to take the chance.
I’m also very aware that change may take time but that’s quite natural and may make the supporters fall in love with the club again ?
At the moment I’m pretty much fed up with the brand we have become and would love that honeymoon period all over again.
If you are honest you would agree that most real supporters you speak with are pretty fed up with brand Arsenal?
    forget statistics and the fact that we have qualified for the champions league every year for many a year ask yourself this;
Are we progressing the way a business whoops sorry club should be with the monies we have available?
Do we actually give a shit about the money the directors whoops sorry club collates?
I just want my lovely old supporter friendly club back.
    What say the masses????
    Dave Dixon

  13. Dave
Yes, I agree that change is required, but I think Arsene deserves one more shot. He’s earned that much and can leave cleanly at the end of his contract.
My disappointment has been the lack of progress of the young British players. What’s gone wrong there? If Spurs can play such stylish football and challenge for the PL with a nucleus of brilliant young English players why then can’t we? The kids coming through from the academy will no doubt be successful at some level, but we had six ( I think ) British squad members last season, and now there’s talk of selling three of them. Walter will probably accuse me of being anti “Johnny foreigner” of course, but how can you relate to this team?
That last thing you said about wanting your old friendly club back is a no-no. The current board have sucked the soul out of Arsenal and we will never get our club back from them.

  14. Looking forward to the security dealing with black scarves & bin bags. I wonder what the tractor boys will make of it. I’m sure Delia will be shouting her “let’s be ‘avin ya” call to her support. I’ll be there to support the team, the club & the manager. Hoping that St Totterings day is nigh.

  15. The tractor boys are Ipswich, Menace. Norwich are the canaries. Let’s hope we beat them anyway.

It isn’t just the abuse on other web sites that is annoying, it’s the constant negativity in the press. Any opportunity to carp and make snide remarks. It does spoil your enjoyment as a supporter.

Even this web site is now full of negative contributions. Who is this blasted upp anyway? Soon it will get to the stage where the only thing I can enjoy reading is the Arsenal web site.

  16. Just looked at it. Everyone’s in training for the first time this season, says Arsene Wenger.

  17. Interesting interview with Jack Wilshere. He says all his injuries have been impact injuries, not muscle injuries. He refers to when opponents might mistime the tackle a bit – that’s how he puts it. And that’s where the referees should be protecting him. I’m sure Arsene Wenger thought he might get better protection from the referees as such an important player for England, but he didn’t. Their hatred for Arsenal is greater than their patriotism, it seems. Anyway, it’s great to see him back, and good luck to him!

  18. Spurs stylish? serge you must be smoking some of Liverpools Henrys stuff. Spurs have been effective because of the PGMO laws but stylish? The only club that plays beautiful football is Arsenal. We are no loger brutal. We are no longer robust tackling morons. We play the beautiful game beautifully. Those of you who dislike Wenger have become frustrated with youselves. Most of you have never read the Laws of the Game & assume pundits are all knowing because they’ve played the game. Your approach is still the red card Beckham/ Rooney route. Even Shearer was & still is an absolute idiot of the first order. He was talented but was also a physical bullying moron.

You may not believe this but most players have never read the Laws of the Game!!! It is a game that so many play but so few know the Laws. The sad thing is the so called upholders of the Laws, the FA are more naive & corrupt. They are unable to maintain a balance sheet & control a game that has written Laws.

Wenger has ensured the economic status of the club is solid & stable while keeping affairs on the field of play up to the highest standards. No other manager in the world has done this. Many of you season ticket holding supporters do not realise what a gem we have as coach & manager. You may have opinions but your intelligence is lacking when it comes to the balance sheet. It is the balance sheet that makes a club valuable. The assets on it are what values a club. The assets make the match results & subsequently make the company results.

Arsenal are worth multiple times the price before Wenger. There are many reasons outside of the club that has impacted this but Wenger had the foresight to have a stadium built with a support infrastructure to maintain a football club at the highest level. Just take the tour that you get free with your season ticket & wallow in the greatness that is Arsenal. Greatness that is owed in no small part to Wenger.

There are people similar in some ways to you black scarf protesting idiots waving black flags in the dessert with a similar naive view of changing the world. They unfortunately screw us all by wasting our time being searched almost everywhere we go. Please God deliver us from all these satanic black rag protesters & the PGMOL.

  19. Sorry Pat (Tractor boys & Canaries)they come from the same area so I made an incorrect connection.

  20. Being an observer from across the Pond, I have difficulty understanding these moaners protesting at a game where supporters need to cheer on their team, not diss it! For God’s sake, we are within one point of a guaranteed CL place thus avoiding playoffs, within 4 points of 2nd place and in far better shape than we were after the New Year. Why do these plastic fanboys seem to believe that they need a change? Have they learnt nothing from other clubs who played managerial merry-go-round and actually failed to improve?
It is fashionable to pretend that referees have not affected our season, that injuries have been insignificant in determining where we are today and that Wenger can no longer justify his salary, without providing any evidence to support these memes…..just like the media fail to do. BG is absolutely right to mock the aaa, the black scarfers and the other losers who feel entitled to shame the club they supposedly love!

  21. In this dem-a-crazy world it’s opinions against opinions, but that is all anyone ever has.

The will to change things in the world usually starts with many people demonstrating. One or two or even three are never ever heard (unless it’s a child sitting before a tank).

So as long as the demonstrations are carried out in an orderly matter, no one is hurt and no damage to property is done, the demonstrations are well in order.

They are expressing their opinions in the way they can.

The fans who want AW to stay at the club they have the freedom to organise demonstrations for that very purpose.
In fact it may better for their sanity if they did do so.

In cases like this i always remember a famous song:
michael jackson man in the mirror.

After all he did follow his own advice did he not? He changed his face, whatever others may think of him.
Of course there are differing opinions about that too but that is the way of the world.

    Accept or leave it.

  22. Omg Arsenal
    Great Post.These protesrers are clueless

Pls stop them at all cost.Ask them to do the protest after the season is over.

  23. WOW ! What a ‘hot’ reception ! Not that I did not expect it , you see !

Thanks to the hardcore AKBs and the other regulars who always see the funny side of my Fantasy Football outtakes ! It makes my while when we can together laugh at the absurdity of it all . And especially at ‘them’! Oh, what joy ! But in truth , its so ,so easy , that sometimes I for a moment …only a moment , I pity them , but them the logical side of my brain kick in and steers me back to the straight and narrow . Phew !

To the others who don’t ‘get ‘ the funny side of my rhetorical musings , its your loss – entirely ! Really ! To those of you who took the trouble to repeatedly pressthe DISLIKE buttons , I really don’t know what to say , other than it must have taken you more time ( at least more than 3 minutes !) to get it done , than just to read the article in its entirety and hilarity .

You haters can log on to my eponymous but nonubiquitous and nonexistent Blog , click on the Fantasy Football Series column on the right outside , and either try to hack it , hijack it or just bring it down totally . Do come back and tell us how you fared ! You’d be like musically inclined but none the smart octopus , who tried to get off the Tartan pyjamas of the bagpipes it was given . His famous words , ” Play it ? I was trying to fuck it !”

To those who did like it for the poor and low quality of the graphics or because it was not being fancy or funny enough , My apologies . We will endeavour to insert some of the latest and kick ass graphics in the next article . But you may need to buy some 3-D glasses to view them !

That being said , are they going to show the protest live somewhere . I’m quite sure someone would take the effort to film or stream this historical event . Do please do post that site on here . Am sure there must be millions who would rather watch it than be supporting the team – either from the armchair or stadium seat .

I await your warm comments and responses . The warmer the better !

    WOO HOO , HOO !

  24. Just received a demand of payment letter from the managememnt of ‘ Crystal Ball Services Inc .’ , that my last payment of Golden hairs of Fleece , eye of Newt and Basilisk’s tongue cannot be accepted as it had degraded to pulpy mush during transportation . And that there may have been some service interruption to said crystal ball over the last few days .
The visions I saw in it may have all been just static after all.
    Bummer !

  25. Not sure why the moaners of the article are on here, of all the articles I have read and commented on I cannot recall seeing their names, now they want to write in claiming the higher ground that they want debate and honest exchange of opinions, well just a quick question but where have you been for the last few years when this is all that the authors of the website and its commenters have been asking for? And if this is your 1st time visiting this site then saying so would have gotten you a big welcome and pointed towards the endless stream of articles almost begging for honest and fair debate and exchanges of views… Glad to have you on board…

  26. I will again say that anyone wanting to change managers this summer is not really giving the incoming manager the best chance of success when he will have:
    1) Very limited time to prepare a squad after the extended euros.
    2) Very limited time to get a team so used to playing a certain way to adopt his philosophies.
    3) Very limited time to get all the players on side who have been bought to Arsenal by Arsene and in some occassions because of Arsene.
    4) Very limited time to buy all these world class players that Arsene obviously cant be arsed to buy.
    5) Very limited time to get in a new scouting team and network to buy all these amazing young players that Arsene’s clearly useless scouting network can’t find.

How about for the remainder of this season, and then 16/17 season we all get behind the manager, the players, the team , the club, throw our full support at it all, stick two fingers up at the media and the PGMOL (quite literally would be nice), give a manager who fully deserves a hell of a lot more credit and respect than he is currently getting, the credit and respect that he deserves, and then see if we can end his reign on the high note he so clearly warrants.

    You know, actually support…

  27. Really sad when a “comic” feels he has to explain his jokes. Perhaps they just weren’t very funny in the first place.
Don’t know why Rupert Pupkin is getting so precious again. Only 8 dislikes is pretty good…….for him.

  28. @Serge, this stylish play you speak of would have been happening if all our creative midfielders or No.8’s hadn’t been injured at the same time, think about adding Santi, Jack, The Ox, Rosicky, and even Arteta to a CM of Le Coq, or Flamini, or Ramsey, or even Chambers at a time and you will see our passing game…

And as for this English core at Spurs playing stylish football, I think you’ll find their creativity comes more form their attacking midfielders Eriksen, Lamela, and even Dembele, rather than a CB playing CM (Dier), Alli who has a good engine and a good shot, and Kane who has all of about 2 assists all season, even their ball playing CB’s are Dutch or Belgique (not a 100% but know they are not English…

  29. Menace

It’s not a taboo to remark on the quality of the current Spurs team. Just look at the goals for & against columns.

  30. More humour for the connoisseurs among the faithful . Will probably piss ‘them’ off too . Especially that there is no mention of Arsenal anywhere !
But just a rhetorical question – Are people glad when you come ..,or when you leave ?Ponder upon it and no answers required , of course !

  31. Dave,

I have just come to your post which was held in moderation, largely because it was just a repeat of personal opinion without any evidence, which is against the rules of the site.

Now I do let many such posts go through, and I was going to ok this one, but then something struck me as funny. Here it was in moderation, and yet it had two “like” votes.

So how did it get two like votes, before it was actually published for the rest of the world to see?

    I’m still pondering that.

  32. ‘ Set your agenda each day or the world will do it for you . Don’t decide on your next move based on the demands of your inbox but on the directions of your dreams ‘.
    Brendon Burchard .

  33. Para, you say, opinions, that’s all anyone has.

Well, no, there are facts, that can be found out by analysis. This is what Untold has provided on the question of referees and on other matters.

It would be a good thing if fans furnished themselves with the facts before deciding their attitude to Arsenal and its manager.

  34. Keep the jokes coming Brickfields, I have not commented on them recently, but I really enjoy them – I usually get a chance to have a quick look at the jokes just after breakfast – a good start to the day. The knowledge that the jokes usually piss off the humourless and insidious aaaa is a bonus!

  35. @ bjtgooner -April 29, 2016 at 10:44 am – Thanks . Rather than go on a useless rant and give myself a splitting headache , I ‘d rather take the mickey and laugh at the stupidity of it all . And at ‘them’ . Have you snorted out any of your breakfasts lately ? If not , then I will have to double my efforts !

What irritates me is ‘them’ claiming to speak for the majority . And then they proceeding to talk through their arses ! I know , I know , you’d probably say that there is where their brains are located, but still ?

What I would like to know is where , when and how this consensus was, or is being taken . And why am I always the only one never consulted ? Any normal person would logically feel affronted . Note , I said normal !

Anyway its always a pleasure to do my part to help keep the AKBs in good cheer . In good times and ..not so good times too.
    Cheers !

  36. An old favourite of mine . Have a good laugh .

    Mr. X,

As an employee of an institution of higher education, I have a few very basic expectations. Chief among these is that my direct superiors have an intellect that ranges above the common ground squirrel. After your consistent and annoying harassment of myself and my co-workers during the commission of our duties, I can only surmise that you are one of the few true genetic wastes of our time. Asking me, a network administrator, to explain every little nuance of everything I do each time you happen to stroll into my office is not only a waste of time, but also a waste of precious oxygen. I was hired because I know about Unix, and you were apparently hired to provide amusement to myself and other employees, who watch you vainly attempt to understand the concept of “cut and paste” for the hundredth time. You will never understand computers. Something as incredibly simple as binary still gives you too many options.

You will also never understand why people hate you, but I am going to try and explain it to you, even though I am sure this will be just as effective as telling you what an IP is. Your shiny new iMac has more personality than you ever will. You walk around the building all day, shiftlessly looking for fault in others. You have a sharp dressed useless look about you that may have worked for your interview, but now that you actually have responsibility, you pawn it off on overworked staff, hoping their talent will cover for your glaring ineptitude. In a world of managerial evolution, you are the blue-green algae that everyone else eats and laughs at. Managers like you are a sad proof of the Dilbert principle.

Seeing as this situation is unlikely to change without you getting a full frontal lobotomy reversal, I am forced to tender my resignation, however I have a few parting thoughts.

    1. When someone calls you in reference to employment, it is illegal to give me a bad recommendation. The most you can say to hurt me is “I prefer not to comment.” I will have friends randomly call you over the next couple of years to keep you honest, because I know you would be unable to do it on your own.

    2. I have all the passwords to every account on the system, and I know every password you have used for the last five years. If you decide to get cute, I am going to publish your “favourites list”, which I conveniently saved when you made me “back up” your useless files. I do believe that terms like “Lolita” are not usually viewed favourably by the administration.

    3. When you borrowed the digital camera to “take pictures of your mothers b-day”, you neglected to mention that you were going to take pictures of yourself in the mirror nude. Then you forgot to erase them like the techno-moron you really are. Suffice it to say I have never seen such odd acts with a ketchup bottle, but I assure you that those have been copied and kept in safe places pending the authoring of a glowing letter of recommendation. (Try to use a spell check please, I hate having to correct your mistakes.)

Thank you for your time, and I expect the letter of recommendation on my desk by 8:00 am tomorrow. One word of this to anybody, and all of your little twisted repugnant obsessions will be open to the public. Never fuck with your sys admin, because they know what you do with all your free time.

    Sincerely,

  37. Serge – praise them by all means. Do so at the next match. When you hear the question ‘What do you think of Tottenham?’ say ‘stylish’.

  38. Excellent and amusing read, BG.

Agree with those saying the moaners are drowning us out here. I have visited this site 2 or 3 times only this week, just to try and stay away from all the negativity I could feel pervading the site after the last 3 or 4 games. There are plenty of negative sites out there, and if I thought I had a negative message for the club then I would go and post it there where it would be most welcome.

  39. @ Pat

Very well said. One fact is worth considerably more than a thousand opinions which are based on misinformation. Sadly, that fact is lost on people who…………………….

  40. Pat it is all summation unless you sit in the board room and hear the full discussions.

  41. @ Al – April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm – I don’t see ‘them’ drowning us AKBs at all . Just the usual yapping and nipping without ant serious bites , followed with repeated LIKES for the prophets of doom and gloom ! It ain’t hot at all !
    Keep the faith .
    Cheers !

Doubt that I’d take a chance with my life on that score, but one thing I do know is that all of the time I’ve been watching football ( since the ’50’s) Spurs have played good attacking football and often quite stylishly. Doesn’t make them better than us of course, but I can’t remember a time when they were deliberately negative.
    No harm in saying so.

Hi Mark – please check serge. He loved Dave like a twin.

  44. Bloody excellent Bricks!More more more. You seem to have made some new friends!

  45. @Dave

The club you hanker after doesn’t exist anymore and I’m not sure it ever did. You’ve been a season ticket holder for 6 years longer than me so you know that things have been far worse during your time a season ticket holder and indeed before that.

The protesting isn’t for me. If some Arsenal supporters want to protest after the game them I have no issue with that just as long as it’s not during the game.

Whenever I have tried to have a sensible debate with those that want Wenger removed the reasons are rarely clear, often change (e.g winning the FA Cup two years in a row doesn’t count now but previously it was “we haven’t won a trophy”) and invariably end up in a discussion around the cost of attending football and money. But my main beef is that these arguments have been going on since 8 years or so and cover a time when we were seriously cash strapped. It’s the same people moaning on their blogs and twitter. It’s the same people moaning in the ground. The same people moaning week in and out, getting on players backs. I stopped listening to them a good while ago now and I stopped reading those blogs etc because of the mean spirited, abuse being thrown around. In doing so I really don’t care what they think now and perhaps I’m doing supporters like yourself a disservice (you seem a decent chap) but I put you all in the same camp now just as I’m put in the same camp of AKB.

  46. The people who want a change of ownership get a life. What world are you living in.Do you believe Stan would pack it in with the amount of revenue rolling in.Owners are in the Premiership for the money, or kudos.
With our owner I really have no liking or disliking.Regarding the protests, it is best summed up by the standards we set ourselves in life.If I buy a season ticket we must win, end of.Life is not like that.I teach at a fee paying School.I have parents coming up to me and asking, why is my son not playing for the 1st team ? I pay money and I expect it.Sorry,he is not good.
Punters expect and demand the very best, regardless. We are being used by the filth of a media. As someone said earlier on this site, they come on here to read pro AW things.AW will see his contract out, spend a few qid(more than other times) and get rid of our injury, under performing English players. Not Jack.
He will then leave.A wonderful Manager.
