- How close is the relationship between ManC and the media?
- “Arsenal dont look like champions” as we reveal the line up tonight. Maybe.
The Arsenal team….
Raya,
Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori,
Guimaraes, Rice, Odegaard,
Madueke, Saka, Havertz.
As we are being brutally reminded every few minutes, we usually have games here that end badly.
The last two were 1-5 and the one before that 0-1. It can’t get much worse than that. But no matter what we can be proud that we support a club is not guaranteed the number oine spot in their league table every August, and then goes on to pick up the trophy nine months or so later.
And let us not forget that last November we won 3-1 at the Ems and by and large we didn’t do too badly in either the league or the Champions League last season.
Plus if you want a trifle more of a boost, the current Bayern are not quite the old Bayern, in that they don’t win every game just by turning up and blinking the eyes.
Plus there is another fact and that is that the German fans and the German media hold Arsenal in higher regard than the English press, to whom we are just the bunch who are not as good as ManC.
Of course, a victory tonight would be incredibly welcome, but indeed so would a draw, as it would stop the Bayern side in their tracks and give them a few extra thoughts in relation as sto just how good they are or they might be.
I am not going to pretend I have high hopes of a staggering Arsenal victory, but I am going to the house of my daughter to watch it with some of my grandchildren, which strikes me as the very best possible way to spend a mid-week evening.
Lett’s hope for the very best, but still be prepared to come rip-roaring back at the weekend no matter what happens..
