In their statement Fulham wrote, “Khan said he and his son Tony Khan, Vice Chairman and Director of Football Operations at FFC, considered and spoke with a number of potential candidates within the past week, with Ranieri becoming their mutual and obvious choice. Tony Khan and his staff will continue to oversee First Team player recruitment and contractual agreements, and he will work closely with Ranieri.”
No news yet on whether Brian Talbot will keep his job or be moved on also but it sounds like he could keep his job. I hope he stays – when he attended the AISA meeting recently he put on a brilliant show and utterly open and honest about the situation at Fulham. A very rare thing in my experience.
In other news some sources are talking up the injury to Lacazette, and there are the story that Ramsey deals are in the offing with the club offering Ramsey as part of the package. Talk is of Patrik Schick from Roma coming our way. But as always, remember only 3% of all these tales have turned out to be true in recent years. Anyway, Arsenal Fever have that one.
And then of course there are 40 or so articles from Football London since yesterday lunchtime, all pretty much made up of short sentences telling us who the manager is, when the stadium was built, how much we spent on the last transfer window and that Danny Welbeck is injured.
But there was one catching my eye, with the headline “Arsenal fans should be very excited by what Sven Mislintat has done ahead of the transfer window.”
As with so many of their headlines having read the article I am still not sure what it is they think Sven has done, or perhaps is about to do, but apparently the story is Arsenal are making a huge financial loss this season, and the owner won’t put any more money into the club, but Sven is going to solve this lack of transfer funding through some very clever sleight of hand. Or something like that.
So everything is ok. Good of them to let us know.
