If you have been with Untold Arsenal for more than a day you’ll have noticed the radical change to the website that happened today, 13 June 2022.
We’ve been working on this for a while, primarily from the point of view of taking us into the 21st century and making the site much more accessible on modern devices, which it now is. Quill pens, as my colleagues have pointed out recently, are no longer acceptable.
Sorry, it has taken so long – that’s entirely my fault – and thanks to everyone who made suggestions as to what we can do. Many of those that do not like the editorial stance of Untold Arsenal suggested various unpleasant things happening to me, and most of those have not been adopted. But many other ideas have been taken up.
There are still one or two things that need to be adjusted, so there will be a few more (generally very small) changes over the coming days but above all, it is readable on my phone now – so hopefully on your phone too!
May I also take the opportunity to thank everyone for reading and of course to everyone who contributes to the conversations. If you read the comments as well as the articles you’ll know we have a fair number of people who really don’t agree with much that we say, and we do try to accommodate them – and tell them where they are getting their facts wrong.
But although the design has changed, the core message remains the same. The club always needs to take notice of us, the regular fans, and at the same time we give the club our support. It’s a two-way affair. The banner headline hasn’t changed – it is still “supporting the club, the manager and the team” and what we write about is “football news from an Arsenal perspective”. And what is written and said in the mass media often doesn’t reflect either reality or the feelings of many fans.
If the new design is giving you any problems in reading the site, please do let me know (Tony@schools.co.uk) and I will see what can be done, but of course, we do have to accommodate the wishes of a lot of people in a range of countries, so I can’t guarantee to make every change suggested.
If you have been, thank you for reading. And I do hope the revised design will encourage you to continue in the months and years to come.
We have been running for 14 years and 6 months, have published 11,250 articles and accepted 280,791 comments. I do hope we can keep going for a while longer.
Again, if you have been, thank you for reading.
Tony.
That’s okay and good luck to you Mr Tony (the Untold Arsenal Owner) in your new endeavour.
Hi Tony what a big chance. It took me a while to find my way around a bit. But that is alos possibly due to me getting a bit less young I think. A suggestion from my part would be to put the recent articles higher up the list.
