Yes it is true, there have been more transfer rumours concerning Arsenal this summer than in any of the previous transfer windows we have measured. Not by much but we have got there.
116 players have been tipped to be coming to Arsenal (or in the case of Jack Wilshere, signing a new contract after the old one passed away) – and these are all ones that at the very least are “according to reports”. So there are none of you nonsense, “this is who Arsenal ought to sign if they are serious about getting back into the top four” stories. They are your real live actual transfer rumours which are according to Mexican radio stations you have never heard of who are quoting a Spanish magazine the name of which is untranslatable.
Yes indeed this is serious stuff!
Today we have three new names (which is not bad at the end of a window, when journalists are staggering debauched, debilitated and defenestrated – which is a word, honest, it means having been thrown out of a window – after two months hard drinking while making tales up).
Plus six updates as these self-same shameless scribblers degenerate, disintegrate and discombobulate (another real word, the meaning of which will not become clear at this time) and look desperately towards next Thursday shouting to their editors as they fall under the table, “No, no more, I can’t make up anything else, I am done for, it is too much, this is inhuman, mine’s a pint…”

Arsenal Women are halfway through a pre-season friendly against Juventus Women at Borehamwood. It’s live on the Arsenal Player for any of you who are interested.
We are leading by 2 – 0 thanks to Vivian Miedema with clinical finishes at both ends of the half. We have been the better team and have looked dangerous every time we have gone forwards. Good game to watch!
Continuing Andrew’s topic – we have a hat-trick.
Full time at Borehamwood – Arsenal 5 Juventus 0 and we thoroughly deserved the scoreline, indeed it could easily have been 7 or 8. Miedema with 4 and captain Little with the fifth.
We were much more together and produced a really good team performance and one to provide great encouragement as we head for Toulouse next weekend.

The first article or two I seen, didn’t clear up whether this was Association Football, Rugby or Aussies Rules (do they play that in New Zealand?).
My condolences.
I’m not finding an appropriate source of data. But apparently Guardiola at Man$ity is crowing that Man$ity can get so much better.
How I interpret that, is that they can spend so much more money, that they will beat any other team in the EPL.
What I think should happen, should they spend (for example, 50% more than any other team and have finished first the season before) more than any other team, is that the league just give them the trophy before the first game of the next season, and cancel all their games. Officially they win all their games 1-0. None of their players get any time playing games, and they have to pay full wages.
Let’s see how long throwing money at teams continue if that happens?
Oh, if the team in this “we bought first place” position decides to loan or give money to other teams so that they can buy players, that counts against their expenditures and the teams they gave/loaned money to get a 40 point penalty.
Marca has an article up, “10 examples of over-inflated Premier League transfer fees”. With me being paranoid about security, the article is empty. I presume that all of the real content of this article, is some kind of picture show which my browser is disallowing. The article references an examination of the EPL transfer record for this year, and I’ve chosen 8 from their list. Did I choose correctly? Who did I miss? Prices are Euros. I hate using a lowercase ‘m’ to indicate millions.
