So which players have the journalists made up in the last couple of days as heading for Arsenal?  Here we go with the latest make-believe – and these journos sure are getting jittery as club after club is totally failing to sign anyone at the moment.

All told we have 28 players listed so far – although one of them remains a cheat since HITC wouldn’t say who it was. The list is at the end.  Here are the latest…

1: Wilfred Ndidi.

He is being touted as Lucas Torreira’s replacement on the basis that Arsenal most certainly need a player better than Torreira if they are going to compete seriously.  (That’s the Mirror’s view not mine).

2: Bruno Guimaraes

TBR Football claim that Arsenal are intensifying their attempts to sign the midfielder from Athletico Paranaense.

3:  Layvin Kurzawa

This is from Football London although they blame RMC Sport.   He’s a PSG defender, and we are offering him a five year contract.  Kia Joorabchian is involved in the deal.  “The defender is out of contract in the summer, and the Gunners have reportedly started talks over a five-year contract for the full-back.”  The Mirror runs the story too, but we should remember that the Mirror runs FoLo so you can’t believe a way they write.

4:  James Maddison

“Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to make Leicester City playmaker James Maddison his club’s marquee signing”

That is from Football Insider.

5:  Dr Gary O’Driscoll to leave

And he is off to Liverpool after ten years with Arsenal.   What makes this interesting is that for most of those ten years journalists and bloggers have run the story that Arsenal get more injuries, and players are out for longer, than any other Premier League club.   And yet Liverpool want the man who has overseen this endless disaster to be the head of their medical team!!!

Could it be that the journalists and bloggers have been lying to us all this time?  And if so will they apologise profusely and say how they made it all up?

If you spot such an apology will you please write in.  The accusations have been so huge and gone on for so long I am sure that the apologies will appear in very big letters.

6: Yan Couto

Some sources are still suggesting Yan Couto is a possible transfer, but the Mirror now tells us that “Arsenal are “set to miss out on” the player.  So he’s gone before we even knew about him.  He’s a teenage defender playing for Coritiba.

7: Djene Dakonam

Arsenal and Tottenham ‘in transfer battle for Getafe defender Djene Dakonam’ .   That is from the Daily Mail.  He’s a centre back who can also play right back.

8: We’re not going to tell you.

Red London has the headline that “David Ornstein on signings Arsenal ‘are looking to make’ before window closes” but then refrains from telling us who the players are.

10. Dries Mertens

A curious source for this one: the Shields Gazette who simply say that Arsenal want the player from Napoli.  They blame the Metro for this make believe.    He can play centre forward or on the wing.

Here is the full list of transfers that are proposed that we have found thus far…

11 Replies to “Man who gave Arsenal all its injuries to be bought by Liverpool!”

  1. i have to agree with what you said regards to our list of injuries Since Driscol took over in thoughs ten years we have had the worst long absence of players through injuries than any other prem team !! and yes the Media have always said it was down to Driscoll and how crap he was !! but its going to be a blessing in surprise to see him go really it is !! and this is why is think so !! Driscol came from the game Rugby not football !! Football is more of a fine art regards to identifying injuries and how to go about mending them as football uses different muscles and is more explosive where as Rugby is more impact ” most injuries on a rugby field are down to impact rather than tears or ruptures !! i have spoken to a few of my friends over the years regards to the difference between rugby physio’s and medical staff and football ones !! My friends happen to be physios of both sports my son played rugby for many years and a long the way i meet some good people who were physio’s in rugby and myself i have played football all my life and even managed at a good levels and have meet many physio’s within the sport of football !! they tell me the too sports regards to physio’s and medical staff are totally different in nearly every way !! and many have commented on Driscol’s change from rugby to football and all have agreed that its hard to recognise injuries in football if your whole career has been rugby and the ways of mending are totally different !! They said they thought it was a crazy idea getting him to arsenal in the first place !!Only the other day i spoke with one of them and they have said its a blessing in disguise for Driscol to go to Liverpool !! But Arsenal must recruit someone from the football world of medical staff not rugby !!

  2. Carl, that is an interesting main point you make there!
I also think that our long list of injuries over the years was largely down to the rotational fouling that curiously our opponents (especially Chelsea and some of the other ‘bruiser’ teams) were allowed to get away with without being carded, whilst our players would get carded for offences half as bad. It was a no win situation. Whoever is the main physio person (there are a lot), it might not have made a huge difference with this bunch of so-called professionals in the PGMOL. As has been pointed out on here by Tony and others many times, Arsenal have been on the receiving end of cards for minor offences, whilst our most effective players have been systematically fouled until injured and substituted, without cards going the other way.

To repeat what was written on here only yesterday, Arsenal also have the most time with players under caution (the only club with over 2000 minutes, compared with Liverpool on 740), where players have to be extra careful not to tackle and may therefore lose their rhythm.
The PGMOL (for some reason which we don’t yet fully understand) employ ever more crafty tactics to cause us more injuries, whilst giving us more cards per foul and more time under caution. Look at these two articles (first mentioned above) and second showing the effect of some of this just for this season alone (9 points and we’re only just over half way through). They call it luck at ESPN but the statistics seem to show without doubt that it is a deliberate and ongoing campaign to shaft the Arsenal.

It stinks and we are just waiting for the rest of the wheels to fall off of their wagon. We’ll still be rolling along. But just as FIFA have asked for state help to combat corruption, the Premiership may well have to do the same.
Arsenal deserve to play on a level playing field.

    Good day to you!

  3. @ Carl

So correct me if I’m wrong, what you’re saying is one of the top clubs in the world didn’t know what they were doing and now another of the world’s top clubs are also going to make the same mistake. I mean I get the basic premise of your argument and your physio friends may well have an opinion but seriously; are you actually saying it’s impossible for a Dr to change sports without realising himself that the injuries will be different; or establish a team that can utilise their various skills and knowledge to the clubs benefit; and now you’re saying the six time European Champions and runaway league leaders are going to make the same massive error.

Sorry, I just don’t buy it. (Irrespective of the fact that we actually didn’t have the worst injury lists, that was media hype; and many of the injuries we incur are down to the lack of protection we are afford by referees by comparison with other teams.)

  4. There were certainly valid criticisms of the rehabilitation of some of our star players following injuries. Ones that immediately come to mind are: van Persie, Rosicky & Cazorla (especially Carzorla) but if there were accusations of an ‘injury crisis at Arsenal’ it was because most of our injuries over a long period were of the non contact type and critics regularly pointed to this as irresponsible care. I’m not a medical pro so don’t know the truth of it and who (if anyone) was to blame, but this last season or so has seen an almost dramatic improvement in this area.

  5. @Mikey,

I think Carl must have misunderstood “Sir Hardly Anyone” and took his piece seriously as a criticism of the Dr and being someone that possibly finds it too easy to knock Arsenal agreed.

My understanding of the piece is how a Dr who has been label as not knowing what he is doing is being head hunted by Liverpool FC of all clubs, meaning all the negative stories of our Dr must be wrong if he is good enough for Liverpool FC. Another proof as to how the media bias have affected and influenced the discontent around everything Arsenal.

Mikey, responded to your last post in other piece.

  6. ***BREAKING NEWS***

PL REFS TO USE PITCH SIDE MONITORS FOR RED CARDS

Looks like Arsene Wenger has been working hard in the background to get the FIFA president Gianni Infantino to notice that the Premier League referee have not been using the pitchside monitors all season that he has instructed them to start making use of it.

I do not believe it is just a coincidence that after the Auba Red Card was upheld (without any reason given) by the FA that the “Referees in the Premier League have been advised to start using pitchside monitors from this weekend if a VAR recommends changing a decision on a red card”. – quote from Sky Sports News

I seriously could not understand the function/use of the FA appeal process following the introduction of VAR. It did not make any sense for an FA panel to overrule a decision made by VAR i.e. SON’s red card. This announcement and new development must mean the FA Appeal Panel is now redundant.

Thank you Arsene, hope you are enjoy your new job were you are untouchable and out of reach of Mike Riley and Co. It must be great to finally have the upper hand at long last.

  7. I’ve just Googled the O’Driscoll situation to discover that we’re trying to hang onto him until a replacement is acquired which makes sense.I don’t know what his contract with Arsenal stipulates re giving notice of termination, or if we can force him to stay until we have another doctor in place, but there’s a potential for us to start matches without a team doctor on the bench. I wonder if Eva Carneiro is available.

  8. Was just about to wade in on the medical and humourous perspectives of certain comments above , but came about this quote , that says it all for me.

‘Before you argue with someone , ask yourself , is that person even memtally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective . Because if not , there is absolutely no point.’ – Dame Helen Mirren.

    Up the Gunners !

  9. Em – Thanks for the link to the Sky article. Looks like Arsene is watching the PGMOL from afar with a bit more power to do something about it. Riley beware!

  10. @Em I notice that the lines ..”The PGMOL will strongly say it is not a knee-jerk reaction, or a U-turn. Officials always promised to listen to feedback from clubs, and we’re told no single incident has prompted this clarification..”

Well done Mr Wenger for forcing them to do something according to the rules for a change.

I love the whole articles premise that there is nothing wrong with the PIGMOB and they are whiter than white and Riley doesn’t lie etc etc…

What a load of tosh – FIFA and IFAB forced the PIBMOB to use pitchside monitors. After all for 220 games they had not complied with an IFAB regulation but NOW they are? As has been said before on this site the journalists must take us for idiots…
