Untold Arsenal has been running the list of all the players tipped to be coming to Arsenal and leaving Arsenal in the transfer window for longer than we can remember. What we do know is the highest ever accuracy level obtained by this predictors is 3% – which to be clear is 3 accurate predictions for every 100 players noted as coming or going. So one of these stories might be right.
First the incoming players and then the players who are preparing to jump ship.
We currently have 40 players noted as coming Arsenal’s way by the pundits. Then there are 14 players about to leave. On a 3% basis, we haven’t found enough players yet for any of them to be dead certain of going or coming.
And an apology – the first edition of this page included some duplicates that have now been removed. Thanks to readers who wrote in and pointed this out.

But then that rather is the point Gunnersaurus. The transfers are made up; so are the numbers; none of them are real.
It’s also worth noting that the list of players we are allegedly buying includes Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey!
The latest is Lautaro Martinez the captain of Milan (Caught offside)has ben left off the list. And a few earlier on mentioned the unlikely possibility of Kylian Mbappé. These writers about Football (I won’t call them journalists) are like old fashioned fishermen. They cast their nets wide so that when Arsenal do eventually sign a player they are able to write “We told you so” or better still “We exclusively told you so”

I hate their use of the terms “flop”, “unload”, “upgrade on”, “keeping tabs on”, “eyeing”, “monitoring”, “high-jack” etc.
Signs of poor literacy as well as poor journalism.
In former times, managers like Malcolm Allison and Ron Atkinson wore sheepskin coats and signed players at Services after a Motorway Dash. (possibly with a Tesco bag full of money).
Club chairman would offer inducements to young players’ families, such as a washing machine or fridge, or in Burnley’s case, a side of beef for the freezer.
Then gifts became more exotic and might have included a Ford Escort or even a Hillman Minx.
I do remember reading that some player in the Seventies was bought in exchange for some fencing !
