With the 2024/25 Premier League season now behind us, Arsenal fans and punters assess the Gunners and forecast for prospective opportunities. Although finishing in a noble second place meant that the Gunners missed out on silverware, losing to Liverpool in the EPL title race, and falling short in domestic cups and the European Champions League.

 2025/26 Premier League Title Odds

It is still too early to make any reasonable projections for a season that seems still months away. There will be a lot of activities taking place behind the scenes for the gunners, and particularly on the transfer front. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta cannot afford to be comfortable when his direct competitors are working on deals to reinforce their squads. Finishing second for three consecutive seasons makes Arsenal a certainty for title favourites for the 2025/26 season. Manchester City endured a torrid season that they will want to forget, Chelsea spent too much time experimenting, and Liverpool looks to have found a winning formula. These are sides that can stand in the way of Arteta’s men.

Top Four Finish Prospects

Gunners have been consistent and should deliver a top-four spot with no fuss, but the main goal will be securing the title. Bookmakers have dropped their odds down to 1/5, which sees the Gunners tipped to secure Champions League football for the 2025/26 season. That is consistent with their recent history of competing at or near the top of the league. If you are an early bird, you can claim your Ladbrokes sign-up offer to use on your next wager. Potential Summer Signings

Arsenal have already been linked with signing some big names this summer to boost their hopes of winning silverware. There are whispers of Martin Zubimendi, Nico Williams, and Viktor Gyökeres coming to the Emirates, but that could be all talk because other European giants have been sounded out too. Arteta needs a striker, and in Gyökeres, he can be guaranteed goals. The Swedish international has had a great season at Sporting Lisbon with 52 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. Bringing in more additions could bring the added depth and quality needed for a reasonable title challenge.

Managerial Expectations

And yet, the pressure for actual silverware is growing with each passing season, even after Mikel Arteta has made real strides. Former Arsenal star Paul Merson recently claimed that Arteta would be sacked by Christmas if the team isn’t in the top two. It highlights the pressure on Arteta and the need for trophies at both the fans and the club level. Many will argue that the club has given Arteta enough time to prove himself, yet he has continued to fall short. The case of Liverpool’s Arne Slot winning the Premier League title in his first season will only fuel discontent among the Gunners’ faithful. But then again, it has been argued that Slot worked on a strong foundation laid by his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp.

Generally, Arsenal feels like a club just on the verge of big things. Sensible transfers paired with a good run of league form and sterling long-term managerial plans will make the Gunners serious contenders to claim the title in 2025/26. However, Arsenal cannot take their eyes off other contenders who will also be actively involved in the market before the start of the next season. A lot of work should be done, and it should be done wisely.
