The 52 players coming to Arsenal as the bloggers start to issue threats

July means action must happen now for The Arsenal says Suburban Gooners,  Now July Is Here, No More Excuses Arsenal says Just Arsenal News and these are typical of the commentaries at the moment.   The implication seems to be that Arsenal are either lazy, or deliberately leading us up the garden paths, or, well just larking about.  And indeed if only the writers were running the show, well we’d have a new team signed already.

But the fact (which is constantly ignored) is that each summer for as many years as I can remember, Untold has tracked all the transfer rumours concerning Arsenal and invariably come up with a total of around 130 players tipped to be coming Arsenal’s way, and of course, the number actually coming in is usually around three or four.   Bring in more than that and you start disrupting the whole balance of the squad – and indeed make the club look like Chelsea, or Tottenham.

Again as we have also shown the more transfers a club brings in the more damage it does to the club’s final league position.  So maybe some of these people proposing more and more Arsenal transfers are in fact supporters of other clubs looking to influence and damage Arsenal.  Unlikely I know, but possible.

Of course, the wretched media PR campaign in favour of transfers has been so relentless that there is a chance that the management team at Arsenal might be drawn into thinking along those lines; one can only hope they are made of sterner stuff than most bloggers and newspaper journos.

But still we see headlines like July Is Here, No More Excuses Arsenal from Just Arsenal News

But no, what we need to do is to try and reduce the level of injuries to our forward players.  Whether any of the players listed by the media can do that I don’t know – it seems unlikely since the media refuse to admit Arsenal forwards were kicked to pieces last season by oppositions that had decided this was the only way to stop Arsenal scoring – and allowed to do so by compliant referees.   But still, in case any of them turn out to be true, here’s the list of 52 players said to be coming our way.  By the end of next month I expect that list to be around 130.

  1. UK newspapers pay garbage collectors to get their transfer news. Also, editors employ reporters by how many lies they can create!
