This season’s transfer window mill seems to be continuing its lathargic passage – at least in comparison with previous windows, and it is starting to look very unlikley as if Arsenal will have the allgeged interest in over 100 men by the time the window “slams shut” (as it always does, although seemingly without ever breaking any glass.  The 16 leavers list is already looking a bit frayed with some new contracts being signed – but of course that has never stopped the creative journalist making something up.

As for the 58 Arsenal are said to be signing, well, maybe they will, maybe not.   One thing is certain – none of these transfers that don’t happen is ever the result of sloppy journalism, because if it were I am sure the journalists and their publications would admit it.  Wouldn’t they?
