By Tony Attwood
I am not sure anyone has ever charted the ebb and flow of transfer rumours through the summer before – if they have I haven’t been able to find the analysis, which is why Untold has chosen to take this task on with the Arsenal Transfer Index.
The Index aims to chart all the main transfer rumours that crop up, and doing it this year, I can report that basically we seem to have had all the rumours – at least for a while. This past week all we have had is the notion that we are signing one player from Bolton, and the idea that two more players are about to leave. Everything is a repetition of what we have had before.
Of course there is the odd nuance and twist and turn in the past week regarding rumours already started, and I’ve indicated all these in bold, but in the end the key changes are two more players said to be leaving Arsenal and one more signing.
The totals now run at 58 signings and 14 departures. There are no other changes in the coaching staff or in terms of the youngsters.
As a result of this hiatus what we are now getting is headlines like “Arsenal could switch their interest from Vardy to Edison Cavani” – which is a bit misleading because Edison Cavani was one of the transfers listed very close to the start of the Arsenal Transfer Index.
In short, it looks as if the people who make up these transfers have used up most of their list, and are now just recycling old stories. It was all a con in the first place, now it is a double con. For what was a pretty mindless down the pub exercise masquerading as journalism and reportage, turns out after a few weeks to be a recycling job purporting to be news and then mindless repetition.
Of course we are still getting the occasional “deal done” story, but once again these are not “deal done’s” as the headlines suggest and nor are they new.
Deal Done: Agent confirms Arsenal target’s release clause has now been activated
This piece on Ricardo Rodriguez isn’t a done deal at all, but just regurgitates the news from the last couple of weeks that the player has a release clause. But then everyone these days has a release clause so even that is not news.
And then it ends, “Di Domenico further added the possibility that Rodriguez could move to Italy in the near future, with Serie A side AS Roma looking to sign him this summer as well.” So the done deal was not only done, it probably didn’t have much to do with Arsenal.
Even the headline
Barcelona and Manchester City target confirms: I will be at Arsenal next season
is not only misleading but also old time. It is about Bellerin staying. We had that two weeks ago.
As for “Arsenal to announce signing of a star this week” that is not only a story about an 18 year old who you may never have heard of (who may well be a great player but is not a young man who will go straight into the the first team squad) but is actually a story that got entered into the index a few weeks back.
So here’s the updated Index of Arsenal transfers for the past four weeks. As for where this is going, as I said, because I don’t think anyone has tracked rumours like this before, we don’t know if this is what always happens, or whether some new inventiveness will creep into the mind’s of the make believe merchants later on.

Thanks Atid. The list only includes people who have been mentioned in the transfer columns, but I will add these as you say.
Maybe the Euros have diverted the attention of the media and the bloggers. Still, even the list as it stands is very impressive – or not!

When your wife says , “Correct me if I ‘m wrong ” ,just smile and agree . Don’t start correcting her .
IT’S A TRAP !
And there has been rumour of management changes.
Arsene Wenger leaving.
Ronald Koeman replacing Wenger at Arsenal.
Nonsense. Nonsense. Nonsense.
DENIAL –
A woman comes home and tells her husband, “Remember those headaches I’ve been having all these years? Well, they’re gone.”
“No more headaches?” the husband asks, ”What happened?”
His wife replies, “My friend Margie referred me to a hypnotist. He told me to stand in front of a mirror, stare at myself and repeat: “I do not Have a headache; I do not have a Headache, I do Not have a headache It worked! The headaches are all gone..”
The husband replies, “Well, that is wonderful.”
His wife then says, “You know, you haven’t been exactly a ball of Fire in the bedroom these last few years. Why don’t you go see the hypnotist and see if he can do anything for that?”
The husband agrees to try it. After his appointment, the husband comes home, rips off his clothes, picks up his wife and carries her into the bedroom. He puts her on the bed and says, “Don’t move, I’ll be right back.” He goes into the bathroom and comes back a few minutes later and jumps into bed and makes passionate love to his wife like never before.
His wife says, “Boy, that was wonderful!”
The husband says, “Don’t move! I will be right back.” He goes back into the bathroom, comes back and round two was even better than The First time. The wife sits up and her head is spinning. Her husband again says, “Don’t move, I’ll be right back.” With that, he goes back in the bathroom.
This time, his wife quietly follows him and there, in the bathroom, she sees him standing at the mirror and saying, “She’s not my Wife. She’s Not my wife. She’s not my wife…”
The media are still in the process of doing their transfer rumours work for Arsenal. While Arsenal are continuing with their summer transfer plans.
It’s noteworthy to remind all the Gooners of the Boss’ summer transfer comment as it relates to this summer window in which he has said, he’ll look into at least 3 likely incoming transfers for Arsenal. One of the trio (Granit Xhaka) he has already looked into.
A media report has said, the Boss is after the signings of Rod Holding and Kelechi Nwakali principally to fortify the Arsenal Under 21 youth squad who have recently gained promotions to the Under 21 1st division League. So there are still 2 more senior signings to be done by the Boss in this summer window.
And who are those signings going to be? Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy? Only God can know. And if the Boss succeeded at signings these duo. Is there a chance he will still sign a top top CB and a top top LB too. Arsenal in my own personal opinion don’t need to sign another RB if Bellerin remains at Arsenal and the Boss trusted Debuchy and Jenkinson for a top cover job and have the duo for a top option to Bellerin at that RB position in this coming season campaign.

Nice one. 🙂
Corruption News
KPMG has either resigned, or been fired, as FIFA auditor. Nominally it is thought this is due to failure to spot the septic one (and others) giving themselves raises. Possibly to better allow them to keep their mouths shut.
http://www.insideworldfootball.com/2016/06/13/kpmg-latest-quit-fifa-financial-circus/
The report ends with noting that KPMG was also the auditor of the Russian and Quatari WC bids.

Every player joining a premier league club will be at Arsenal next season unless they are hospitalised. Arsenal is the home of the beautiful game so most players want to visit their dream team!!
Brickfields – you bring joy to a dreary day.
@ colario & Menace – Glad you liked it . To keep on smiling , just follow my old ,tried and trusted mantra – stand in front of the mirror and say –
