Arsenal v Everton the teams, last minute injury update, top scorers, recent form

By Bulldog Drummond

As we approach the time for the train to London here’s a quick look at the home and away form.  Arsenal’s home form looks like this…

Won 13, drawn 3, lost 2.  Scored 36, conceded 15.

Not as perfect as it might be, but still, not too bad.

Everton’s away form this season is less exciting

Won 4, drawn 6, lost 8.  Goals for 19, goals against 25.

And that really is the story of Everton’s season, a fairly awful away form.  They did score two against Tottenham, but still lost, and at the end of last year they scored two against Hull, in a rare showing of goalscoring ability, but most of the time it is one goal or nothing – mostly because they only have one goal scorer, as we shall see.

Here is the chart of Everton’s recent away form

Date Opposition Score Result
30/12/16 Hull City 2 – 2 D
21/01/17 Crystal Palace 0 – 1 W
01/02/17 Stoke City 1 – 1 D
11/02/17 Middlesbrough 0 – 0 D
05/03/17 Tottenham Hotspur 3 – 2 L
01/04/17 Liverpool 3 – 1 L
04/04/17 Manchester United 1 – 1 D
22/04/17 West Ham United 0 – 0 D
06/05/17 Swansea City 1 – 0 L

Overall that gives a tally of one Win, five draws, and three defeats.  Not a particularly profound record.

Arsenal at home is a different sort of affair…
Date Opposition Score Result
01/01/17 Crystal Palace 2-0 W
22/01/17 Burnley 2-1 W
31/01/17 Watford 1-2 L
11/02/17 Hull City 2-0 W
02/04/17 Manchester City 2-2 D
05/04/17 West Ham United 3-0 W
26/04/17 Leicester City 1-0 W
07/05/17 Manchester United 2-0 W
16/05/17 Sunderland 2-0 W

So that makes four wins at home in a row and overall this year seven wins, one draw and one defeat.  What is also of note is that in the last four we have not conceded at home, and indeed have only conceded two in the last six, or put it another way five in the last nine.

In terms of the goalscoring feats looking at the double figure goalscorers… Arsenal as you may already know (if you have been paying attention) have three in the chart while Everton have just the one in Lukaku.

Player Club Goals
1. Harry Kane Tottenham Hotspur 26
2. Romelu Lukaku Everton 24
3. Alexis Sánchez Arsenal 23
4. Diego Costa Chelsea 20
5. Sergio Agüero Manchester City 18
6. Dele Alli Tottenham Hotspur 17
6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic Manchester United 17
8. Joshua King AFC Bournemouth 16
9. Christian Benteke Crystal Palace 15
9. Jermain Defoe Sunderland 15
9. Eden Hazard Chelsea 15
12. Fernando Llorente Swansea City 14
12. Son Heung-Min Tottenham Hotspur 14
14. Sadio Mané Liverpool 13
15. Philippe Coutinho Liverpool 12
15. Olivier Giroud Arsenal 12
15. Jamie Vardy Leicester City 12
18. Roberto Firmino Liverpool 11
19. Troy Deeney Watford 10
19. Theo Walcott Arsenal 10

And finally in the data round up, as for the injury chart we are still sitting in 15th according to Physioroom, while Everton sit in 8th position with six players out.

The latest addition to Everton’s list is Stekelenburg.  The Ox, Koscielny and Santi remain on our list while the Everton lists includes Lennon, with a “medical condition” – not the most helpful piece of information Physioroom has ever give us.

The latest bits of tittle tattle from the counters of such things show that Arsenal are unbeaten in 22 league and cup home fixtures against Everton having won 18 and drawn 4.  Their last victory chez nous was back at Highbury in January 1996, when they beat us 2-1.  The last time they did the home and away double was in the 1985/6 season.

Our solid run continues – with six out of seven league wins in a row, and as you will know we have one more point than we got last season.  If we win it will equal the second highest points total in the last nine years.

As for last day of the season games we have won at home on the last day of the season for nine campaigns in a row.

Alexis Sanchez and Harry Kane are top of the league for goals plus assists – both on 33 and Oli Giroud is still two goals short of 100 for Arsenal.  But he has scored four in his last three games against Everton.

Romelu Lukaku on the other hand has gone four games without a goal.

And so after all that we get to the team…
Cech
Holding Mustafi Monreal
Bellerin Ramsey Xhaka Gibbs
Alexis Ozil
Welbeck
That would leave on the beach

Ospina, Gabriel, Coquelin, Elneny, Walcott, Iwobi, Giroud.

If Koscielny is fit he might come onto the beach for a bit of volleyball, but otherwise I suspect he is in cotton wool preparing for the fight against Chelsea at Wembley.   There is also a growing feeling that the Ox might be ready for next weekend, but only might be.

And that I think by and large wraps it up for another league season of previews.  With a bit of luck I should be able to add a couple of lines of chit chat relating to Chelsea at Wembley, but either way, if you have been reading the regular meanders I do hope you might have found something somewhere that was regularly of interest.   The point has been to try and find something slightly different from other sites in the build up to the matches.

Right, time to sort out a few things before heading over to meet the gang at the station.

And a PS: Walter is joining us at the game, so there won’t be any post match reporting today.  We’ll be back on Monday.

  1. COYG. I hope everyone in the stadium gets behind the team and there is no more nonsense.

  2. I hope Everton does not play 4-1-4-1 as this always gives us problems.
    Still, we should prevail.

  3. I’m hoping for a third place play off (at least) as Watford are more likely to beat City than Middlesborough are to win against Liverpool. Of course there’s a little matter of five goals to make up……
    UTA

  4. @Leon

We just need a draw from that poor Boro side.

Just a thought: I felt over my stream that support for the boys v Sunderland was excellent. It’s about quality, not quantity. Last season match v Swansea was a different thing.

Today, we need to do our stuff, to gain momentum for the cup final.

    COYG!

  5. Your starts and bench are good to play this match and win it but Le Prof may think differently when his own are out.

This match is critically vital for Arsenal to win it and then hope they’ve made it to the CL next season if results from Anfield and the Vicarage road go to their favour. I believe one or both of these results will go their favour and Arsenal will surprisingly finished 3rd in the table against all expectations.

If Arsenal win this match and by a stroke of good fortune qualify for the CL next season and also beat Chelsea to lift the FA Cup, then, Stan Kroenke will light his ciga, draw in the smoke and puff to sigh a sense of relieve from the pressure being mounted on him by some sections of Arsenal fans and Usmanov who are now trying to force him to sell his 67% holding at Arsenal for his lack of showing passion for Arsenal and his none supporting the club with his personal cash to help Arsenal win big.

Many will not want these two successes for Arsenal to happen. So that Kroenke will be compelled to sell his Shares at Arsenal and go. And also Le Prof will leave too. But for me, I won’t contemplate Arsenal missing out on the CL next season and missing out too on the FA Cup win next week for Kroenke and Le Prof to leave Arsenal. I rather have the duo remain at Arsenal to see Arsenal play in the CL next season and win the FA Cup this season too. I am too Arsenal not to see Arsenal play in the CL and win a Cup final they’ll play.

  6. It does not seem that we have a chance to get 4th place, but as we know, last game, players heads are on holiday already, except for Chel$ and Arsenal who have one more game, so lets visualise the win.

I really do not want EL next season, although some think it might be good for Arsenal.

  7. Nice to see UA ‘s banner and message well displayed before the start.
    GOAL !

  8. how many tackles against alexis going unpunished
    but here you go…

  9. Not harsh at all, Knobby. Terrible tackle. We looked very good again, too.

  10. Middlesboro should have had a penalty…
Top 4 will be decided by Riley’s mob.

  11. Borough should of had a penalty and Liverpool should be down to 10 men.

    What a joke.

  12. Why do they keep talking about “intent” ?
hand towards ball is a free kick.

  13. Terrible tackle from Koscielny; deserved red card. We’re 2-0 up anyway, so there is no excuse for us not seeing out this match. Down to what happens at Anfield now.

  14. If the correct call had been made at Anfield it could now of been us 2 up with Liverpool 1 down and also down to 10 men.

It seems PGMOL will have there say right up to the end.

  15. Man City two up against Watford. So that’s shot my theory that we would finish third right up the arse

  16. When we start seeing the Northern Ref Association give reds for similar tackles against us then I’ll be happier

  17. Is it illegal to book Liverpool players?

Think it must be. Either that or Atkinson’s left his cards at home.

    1-0 Liverpool.

Nice to hear our very own Alan Smith getting so excited for them.

  18. That was a clean penalty ….. Liverpool being helped big time…

Come ooooooonnnnn Chambers….. destroy those scums

  19. Full credit to Boro, they’ve given 100% and should of had a penalty and be playing 10 man.

As it is they are 1 down playing 12 men.

    Same old same old.

  20. After all those crap results earlier in the year we miss CL by a measly point.

  21. SKY Verdict on the penalty.

    ‘What a terrible terrible decision.’

How can these arseholes in black just keep getting away with this?

  22. Ccooommmee ooooooonnnnn Chambers…

    We want a a minimum 1-0 from you in the 45 mins….?

  23. @Knobby

Those crap results include turning up “not physically ready” (Wenger’s words) for the first game against Liverpool and then dropping our best player for the second game against Liverpool, the team which is now going to push us out of the top 4.

  24. Oinks!!!!

Google still thinks it’s 0-0!!!! Where are your algorithms Google????

  25. From The Mirror live feed.

‘Dejan Lovren’s clumsy challenge on Patrick Bamford may have seen the Croatian shown a red card and a penalty awarded, but referee Martin Atkinson deemed that no action was necessary.’

Martin Atkinson no wonder, and he’s the PGMOL best referee, what a joke.

  26. Look, lets not start singling out this that and the other just as an excuse to have a pop at Wenger.

Whether, Klopp, or Pep, said anything similar about his own players, or self at any time is irrelevant, because the mere fact they where are in the position they where at the start of the day suggests they had similar issues on numerous days as well.

Lets not make like we where the only ones to have such days.

  27. There’s an indignity!Carried off. Probably misses the cup final and gets a yellow card. We’re running short of central defenders for next week

  28. We started the season with lack of central defenders and we now end with lack of defenders.

  29. 3 now.. that’s it the no hoper league here we come.
Could be an North London v Middlesex final.

  30. 3-0 Liverpool now.

Problem is now, that disgraceful decision in the first half that could of made a massive difference will be swept away as a mere irrelevance when in fact it as anything but.

  31. Hahhahahaha hahahahahahahahahaha

Google algorithms gone mad. Everton leading 0-1!!!!

  32. GGG @ 4.21
Exactly. Anyone who doesn’t have the footballs to call it is it is does not know football

  33. It’s not yet over until it’s finally over. The Gunners and Sanchez should keep attacking Everton to score more goals in the looking now to be impossible favour for us at Anfield which could turn round to become a big favour for us after all. Because this is football where the impossible can suddenly out of no where become the possible.

  34. That Arsenal board should start putting their money where it matters the most and fund the fight to challenge the PGMOB on every decision, every game.

  35. It was always a long a shot and alas it wasn’t to be.

I don’t give a toss about the whingers I’m still proud of our boys.

Lets hope Gabriel is ok. Lets hope Alexis ok.

Listening to Arsenal commentary sounds like we played pretty well.

Great to be going into the Final at least in decent form.

  36. Oliver was not fair to Arsenal.
    What?
no surprise there, could have been a better game with 10-10.

  37. Great Goal and Impressive Performance to end the Season.
As far as top 4 is concerned it was just had to come today or tomorrow.
Team needs to prepare for next week, big game coming up. Thou it may not matter if PGMOL has already decided the result.

  38. Zendsaut

I really wish something could be done but I just don’t think it’s possible. One look at these penalty stats tells you all you need to know about what we are up against.

    Penalties last 10 years:

    Arsenal F 48 A 52

    Man City F 68 A 34

    Spurs F 50 A 35

    Liverpool F 64 A 36

    Chelsea F 65 A 28

    Man Utd F 67 A 28

    Least penalties for.

    Most penalties against.

Only top side with a negative for/against.

    This is NOT subjective.

    This is not opinion.

This a fact that completely supports the more subjective match analysis. yet people still think all is fair and above board.

Screwed by PGMOL (at Anfield) yet again.

  39. So no CL next season..

Come on GUNNERS…let’s fight back next season…

    Now for the cup final

  40. As long as Arsenal’s board doesn’t make necessary moves nothing is going to change for us.
Just look at the figures above, it clearly shows the bias against Arsenal. Its time Arsenal raise voices and it has to be from top.

  41. Unreal attempts from the refs to fix and tilt and game from the start…unreal.

Made us to play 10 men with for 80 mins…Williams escaping a sending off..Schniederlin escaping a sending off..Jagielka escaping a sending off…. Oliver stood silent and action less to not award a card.

when it came to send off Kos and give the penalty Oliver didnt wazte a sec

  42. One more game to go, let win that and then start preparing for next season.

  43. As long as we have Kroenke as the man in charge, the club will be silent about the continuous screw ups we’ve been subjected to for a decade. Silent Stan is a silencer on Mike Riley’s gun pointed on us for a decade. Riley has finally managed to shoot us off from Champions League.

When it comes to our boys and the manager, they made me proud today. Fighting 10 on 12 for over 80 minutes, scoring two goals with a man down. Hopefully all three contract doubts will be solved in the next few days in a positive way. We need Alexis, Ozil and Arsene next season as we will have a genuine chance for a European trophy.

Also, the season is not over yet. We will have a tough Cup Final next week. If we win, we will win a trophy and win ourselves a chance for another one (Community Shield).

    COYG!

  44. We learned two things about Oliver today.

He is a cheat and a WIMP!

    Disgraceful.

  45. Pleased with the performance, disappointed in Kos. Here’s hoping we take Europa seriously.

  46. Just take premier league seriously then the poodits can shit the fuck up

  47. The media have been mocking Arsenal for consistently being in the top four, now the team is out of it for the first time in like 20 years, the same media now mocking this great club for being out of the top four. No wonder this world is filling with negativity.

  48. Usama – thinking time only comes into play when the cheating is going to happen. The fucker got so much balls that he just waited to give Gabriel a card when it was a foul on him be the Everton player who didn’t get the ball.
My prayer is that all the PGMOL suffer pain & dream that Arsenal are burying them with sand filled trophies.

  49. Didn’t see the match, and Arsenal.com are rarely if ever controversial, so don’t really know how bad Oliver was or wasn’t, but if he was as bad as it sounds I will be very disappointed as I thought he was one of the last men in black to at least give us a break, and I know one thing for sure MOTD’s and SKYs editing wont show the bias if it was there. And even if they do, they sure as hell wont see it as such.

As for this idea that Kronke, or whoever at Arsenal, should do something about the PGMOL pitch tilting please tell me what?

Don’t you think we will get slaughtered in the media?

And if you think they should do it covertly, well, how do you know they haven’t already?

You don’t know if it was a covert complaint that has actually made things worse?

So tell me, what should they do? And how should they do it? Because from where I’m standing it’s just another excuse to moan about Kronke.

  50. Nitram

many thanks mate. These figures underpin every game.

    ”Penalties last 10 years:

    Arsenal F 48 A 52

    Man City F 68 A 34

    Spurs F 50 A 35

    Liverpool F 64 A 36

    Chelsea F 65 A 28

    Man Utd F 67 A 28

    Least penalties for.

    Most penalties against.

Only top side with a negative for/against.”

  51. @Nitram
    Regarding Top Brass reacting
If you look at Roman’s passion for the team, he would never allow such poor referring against Chelsea and look at Kronke he simply doesn’t give a sh*t about Arsenal. Forget the money but at-least show some balls.

I think this was the job that Dein performed remarkably, something Ivan/Kronke has failed to do.

  52. @Nitram:

I don’t really know why people feel Oliver is anything other than a tool. There was that one match a few years ago in the FA Cup when we played United where he made a few good decisions that went our way. Aside from that he tows the party line as much as any other ‘elite’ referee and the stats back that up.

  53. WOO HOO , another great win. It was a straight red for Kos , but no reciprocal cards for Everton .
Hope the injured aren’t too bad.
    Up the Gunners !

  54. Nitram

To answer your other points –

you fight the bias of PGMOB with a co-ordinated strategy involving

    1) The law and the courts. The bias cheats all fans and rots the EPL as a brand. No fan anywhere on the planet is getting a fair, just, deal.

    2) You change the culture by making the bias open and visible to every fan and member of the public.

    3) You create the archive of ‘The Wenger Years’ using all media and showing the achievements, the football, the horrendous injuries, the open bias of the tilted field.

  55. Swapneel

    1) “If you look at Roman’s passion for the team,”

What a crock that is. Roman is almost as famous for his low profile as Kronke is.

    2) “Kronke he simply doesn’t give a sh*t about Arsenal.”

    And you KNOW that how?

    3) “Forget the money…”

Have you never heard of the phrase ‘Money is power’ ?

    4) “I think this was the job that Dein performed remarkably”

So you think all our PGMOL issues started when Dien left and not when Riley took over at the PGMOL then ?

Plus as I said the other day, back then it was only Man Utd and Arsenal that where winning things and actually selling the PL to the World. Now, because we don’t actually plough Billions in to the PL/FA Coffers, in fact we take more than we put in, we are basically a pain in the back side.

You made 4 statements there and all where nonsense. Well done.

  56. @Polo

You know how they say: “When a man bites a dog…”

Number of pundits will make mockery of Arsenal because we are an easy target. The best thing to do would be “silenzio stampa”. Let them f.ck themselves.

I reckon Arsene will stay for sure and that he has the best intention to keep this group of players together. Add Kolasinac for the LWB position, see if there is a hope for Cazorla to recover and a striker (Lukaku?) to bang goals for fun – that should be it. Chez, CC and JW will add depth.

I struggle to see Theo next season here though.

  57. Nitram
    Point 1
Tell me why Chelsea never get robbed so horribly by bad referring, let alone as consistently as Arsenal?
There is a reason why F Word used to complaint about favorable decisions to Chelsea since Roman era.

    Point 2
Tell me one team that he own that plays for winning whatever is at stake in their respective league (expect Arsenal, as this time of being competitive will end once Wenger retires)

    Point 3
    Yes heard about it 🙂

    Point 4
No it started post Riley, Everyone knows we are being robbed in daylight.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

  58. Josif

You may be right about Theo.

I love the guy, always have, but something went wrong this season.

He started the season so well, but despite claims to the contrary this was no different to other similar great ‘spells’ he’d had, but alas, as has happened before he couldn’t maintain it this time either.

Now usually that’s down to an injury, but this year there seems to be no apparent reason for his down turn in form, and it’s baffling.

I hope he doesn’t go and regains his top top form because he can be a great player, but depending on who we buy, and who we keep, he could well become surplus to requirements.

Ultimately I think we could see him leave.

  59. Nitram,

Roman regularly shows up at youth team matches. There are lots of awful things to say about the crook, but he’s passionate about football.

  60. Swapnell

    1) No other team. I repeat, NO other team gets robbed like Arsenal. It has nothing to do with RA.

    2) And that proves you KNOW he doesn’t get care. That’s stretching your powers of mind reading don’t you think.

    3) Well then you should know that it’s much more likely to be Romans money that holds the power, as opposed to the man himself.

4)You say “No it started post Riley, Everyone knows we are being robbed in daylight.” ??

What’s that supposed to mean? That’s exactly what I said. The robbery started post Riley. In fact almost to the day he arrived.

    Try again.

  61. Sorry, typo.

2 should just read: And that proves you know he doesn’t care.

  62. Nitram
    1) I don’t see any other team being so quiet about it if they were to get robbed like this consistently.
Which certainly has to do with our owner not giving a damn about Arsenal. Tell me why else all his teams are so mediocre. It certainly doesn’t require mind reading powers … lol.

    4) Yet everyone at Arsenal is happy about it expect for Players and the Manager.

  63. Scuba

The debate is whether Romans perceived ‘passion’ (“If you look at Roman’s passion for the team, he would never allow such poor referring against Chelsea”) or Kronkes perceived lack of ‘passion’ (“look at Kronke he simply doesn’t give a sh*t about Arsenal”) is behind the way Arsenal are refereed. Nothing else.

I contest this on 2 points.

    1) It is extremely spurious to draw such extreme conclusions about those 2 individuals passion, or lack of it, on such flimsy evidence. The truth of the matter is we know virtually nothing about either of those 2 as people, at all.

    and

    2) It his highly debatable that Romans ‘passion’ or Kronkes lack of ‘passion’ has anything what so ever to do with how we are refereed.

2 massive assertions based on what?

When all the real evidence points to things going against us when the ’49th game’ man Riley took charge at the PGMOL.

So the argument is then, if Kronke jumped about in the stands, or turned up at few reserve games, all would be well with the men in black?

Is that seriously what you’re saying?

  64. Swapneel

    4) Yet everyone at Arsenal is happy about it expect for Players and the Manager.

    More mind reading then ?

  65. Rodelero

You are right, it is certainly that United game that sticks in the mind.

But honestly, I did feel he gave us a better deal. I thought the UA stats backed that up, but I may be wrong.

Either way it certainly seems he’s moved to the dark side now, even if he wasn’t there before.

  66. Nobody noticed the words used by Arsène in the press conference (Arsenal.com : It’s very sad for us to miss top four”)?
    This particular phrase sound puzzling:
” Of course you can look everywhere for where we dropped these points, but since January it’s been a very difficult environment for different reasons. Some you know about, and that’s very difficult for a group of players to cope with that. There are some other reasons that we will talk about another day. Psychologically, the environment for this group of players was absolutely horrendous and I’m very proud of what they have done, the way they responded and finished the season.”
Absolutely horrendus… It sounds like the boss have something important to say…

  67. If you dont stand up for yourself they will walk all over you. That’s how it is.

Some one at the club needs to speak out, someone who cannot be fined, no need to give them money on top of it all.

  68. Nitram
I certainly didn’t read anyone raising their voices against it, as if they are being told not to speak against referring.
the media doesn’t want to speak they are all jerks, but why is no one associated with club or from Arsenal Supporters speaking about it for so long

  69. At least lots of the lacking niagra’s moaning fans should bugger off now we’ve not made top 4, Wenger’s right when he says those fools contributed to us finishing 5th due to their lack of spine and no stomach for the fight.Mind you those glory hunters will all be out if we win the cup giving it large like the turds they are..

  70. No Nitram, what I’m saying is that Roman, for as much of an ass as he is, actually gives a damn about the on pitch results in West London, at all levels. The silent one just wants to see his investment put $$$ in the bank.

Abramovich is a disgraceful excuse for a human, but he’s a better football owner.

  71. A reason for silence.Maybe they have been collecting evidence. You don’t want to show your hand until you know it’ll make a difference.
StatDNA, might do more than just track Arsenal player performance.

  72. I’m looking at the match again, just to be sure I didn’t dream about Oliver’s refereeing.
Just one among many: 54:18, Danny gets the ball and runs alone toward the box. Williams hits Welbz’s leg thus illegaly stopping the attack. (At least Kos tried to get the ball, missed his tackle and get the red) So here, the guy deserved at least a yellow card for this… Oliver whistles. He asks Williams once to come to him – probably to give him a warning, maybe a yellow, who knows. Williams doesn’t move.
He asks him again, whistling and making signs. Again no move from Williams.
And? Well, nothing! Since when can you obviously make a foul, refuse to obey a referee and get nothing? I wonder if it would have been Xhaka doing the same…

  73. It can work. A couple of seasons ago Karren Brady complained in her Sun column that West Ham wasn’t getting any penalties, and sure enough next match they get one.
Waste of time going behind the scenes. You have to come right up front and take a chance. Wengers a multi millionaire. What difference would a £50000 fine make to him for making a statement in The Guardian or Telegraph?

  74. Gouresh – your naivety is amazing. CL is not only a competition it is also a money earner. We earned enough to pay for our stadium without being allowed to win the CL. We have a new threat with the FA cup being the latest handicap. Taylor & Kos out, how many reds during the final?

  75. Menace. Its not nativity, its plain practical. We have been in the CL not to compete but to make money and that every one knows. Lets not pretend for 1 sec that we are there to compete let alone win it. Apart from treating it as a cash cow nothing. Now that we are outside the top four, lets forget the Europa league an focus on the league. AW mocked Conte that since they were not in the CL he could win the league. Lets see what we can do. Let us play the reserves in the EL and go for the title.

  76. Do you really think we got to the final in Paris just because we wanted money? Arsenal played in every competition to win. Each one was given its due and each one had a corrupt band of officiating with its own drivers to destroy our teams. There is corruption in the game that transcends the naive fans view. In today’s match the fans sang ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ to Oliver. The fact is he knows full well what he’s doing. He’s cheating on behalf of his paymasters.

Arsenal are a football club that has modelled itself on fair play & honest operation. It struggles to compete in the bent world of today’s sport.

Just look at the Olympics. How many cheats are coming out of the woodwork? It is the same in football. The cheats will flow out eventually because truth does not stop seeping into every nook & cranny.

  77. Josif make you right about Kroenke……a ref could send off half the team in a single game, and you wouldn’t hear anything from him.
He just gives the appearance at least of being completely disengaged. Would like to have a Footballing DOF to take on the pgmol , even if the man that counts would not. Not David dein, but a,similar figure.
Not saying I want him owning the club, but have a hunch refs would be very different if Putins mate…Usmanov were owner

  78. Alan Shearer thinks Middlesbrough should have had a penalty early on and Liverpool a red card. No way was that ever going to happen.

  79. Very proud of the team’s performance today and in this congested period where they won every game. There has been a determination, grit and togetherness as well as good play, and I give the team and the manager full credit for that.

It is terrible when Arsene Wenger has to come to a press conference and tell a load of journalists that he loves Arsenal and will to his dying day in order to prove his commitment to the club. What Arsene has given to this club should not even be questioned. What a cock eyed world we do live in!

What a sickening world the world of journalists and referees is. Ruining the ‘beautiful game’.

  80. It was unbelievable in the stadium as well. Kos was late but Oliver was quick with the red. The only time he was quick was red card & penalty. The Everton bookings – second yellows didn’t materialise. He is so blatant & shameless. Still Arsenal are still the best football playing team in the EPL.

They have to be considering they got to the FA Cup Final & are up near the fourth place trophy. Opooops it is only a trophy when Arsenal are consistently winning despite the sloping pitches.

I dread the cup final. I’ll be there and I expect the usual shit officiating. Despite it all I still think Wenger’s Arsenal will come out on top.

It doesn’t matter what cameras they use to aid officiating. This lot are so fucking shameless they would call it according to the Laws of the Arsenal Game.

  81. Q: You’re trapped in a room with a Komodo dragon, a wolverine and 😈 Mike Riley. You have a gun with two bullets. What do you do?

A: You shoot 😈 Mike Riley, twice!

    .

    Q. What’s the difference between a dead dog on the road and a dead English EPL referee on the road?

    A. There are skid marks in front of the dog.

    .

    Q. What do Premier League referees and sperm have in common?

    A. One in 3,000,000 has a chance of becoming a human being.

    .

    Q. What do you have when 20 PGMO referees are buried up to their necks in sand?

    A. Not enough sand.

    .

Q: Why do so many Americans play soccer?

A: So they don’t have to listen to the pundits on TV.

  82. Yes one final in the CL…and then what? We couldn’t win it with a superbly strong team. The typical argument is that we cannot attract players if we are not in the CL, but we have been in the CL and with all the so called attractive players what have we achieved? We blame everything under the sun for our defeats but never ourselves…”I didn’t do it, it was the ref”. Every single game, the refs to blame…..so if its so blatantly obvious, why haven’t the club stepped in and made a issue of I? But knowing AW, he will field a strong team in the EL and we will end up suffering in the league.

  83. Menace:
“Arsenal are a football club that has modelled itself on fair play & honest operation. It struggles to compete in the bent world of today’s sport. ” 🙂

Being a sort of fair and honest person myself i can tell you it is hard restraining from taking down some idiot/bully/con person who think they can walk over you, and from sucumbing to the pressure to be like them.

But i dont, i just look at them, and they must see something in my eyes, for they tend to go away then.

Dishonest and not nice people do not like nice and honest people because it shows them their failings too explicitly.

  84. gouresh – you are obviously so good that you’re a billionaire because you made on rupee profit & then what? Football is not an easy game & yes Arsenal have failings but to succeed in a sport where the game is managed by corrupt officials that have a monopoly is an amazing feat of dedication. The last 2 FA Cup finals that Arsenal played in are clear examples of winning against the tide. In fact all our victories in the last 20 years have been against the tide of selective blindness of PGMOL. The unfortunate side of all this is Joe Public also gets taken in by the liar in his ear & calls the truth ‘conspiracy theory’.

The media & big brother have an amazing control of society. They put governments in power; they destroy sporting success; they operate stings to get to peoples weaknesses; they end up amongst the wealthy without being seen.

Back to last nights game. Kos was reckless & silly to have made that challenge. If he were from some other club he would probably have got a yellow. There were several examples of the corrupt officiating that Untold eludes to on show last night, and not only at the ems.

The FA can stop anyone from attending football anywhere in England. The can stop any club from participation. Their power is so great that even Her Majesty has less. What makes it worse is that most of them are not visible.

  85. If as is stated that the referee’s have it in for Arsenal and have done for many years.

Can i just ask why they hate us more than all of the other clubs? What have we done to them?

  86. It was good to beat the Orcs in Blue yesterday – despite the visually impaired appalling bandit in black. Some of the Orcs looked as if they should have had a striped shirt!

But well played our team – what guts!

The day was overshadowed by the end of season circumstances and being manouvered out of the Champions League places – partly by our poor from after Christmas and largely by the manipulations of a PGMO long past being unfit for purpose.

    Wenger in!

  87. Matt, I don’t think we have ever argued that it is more than other clubs, indeed the figures from the first 160 games of the season don’t show that. If you read the theory of Type III match fixing you will see how it works.

  88. Tony…

Any indications of “extraordinary” betting patterns surrounding the Red Card for Koscielny but no Red card for Everton (despite two obvious contenders)?

  89. How’s this for Footballing Fake News and manipulating the gullible? Sky Sports ‘Ask the Ref’ this morning. Dermot Gallagher positively salivates over Oliver stating he has had an outstanding last three months in the EPL and showing what a fine ref he is. They show just three incidents to justify this: Kos – fair enough: Gabriel – discussing whether it might have been a red when the replay shows his tackle wins the ball cleanly and that Valencia goes down grabbing his leg and rolling when there is no contact: and then the handball for the penalty. Absolutely no comment on the the several examples like Holgate’s upending of Welbeck and the unbelievable decision not to give Williams a second yellow, to mention just two. If you are at the game and see this week after week and listen to this rubbish you just know that those penalty stats published above are not just random data and this is a PR exercise to disguise the incompetence.
Then on to the Lovren foul on Bamford, and I kid you not, you see Atkinson wave it away indicating that there was a coming together – coming together when Bamford clearly gets in front and between the ball and the opponent and is bowled over – and Gallagher, agreeing it’s a foul, excuses Atkinson by claiming that Matip gets in his view and so he can’t see it. The same Atkinson who refused three nailed on penalties for us in the recent West Ham game.

  90. @percy, its obviously your opinion that Oliver had a poor game, unfortunately that doesn’t have to be other peoples opinion too. You don’t like it, get your own show and Tell your opinion

  91. Oooooh, excoriated by Mike Riley’s love child, but if you pay a little bit more attention you will notice that the post was about the Sky Sports show and your silly response and recommendation carry just about as much authority as an Anthony Taylor performance. Why don’t you give us all a good laugh by explaining and justifying the Gabriel yellow, the incidents mentioned as not debated on the show and the Lovreen incident rather than just pathetically trolling? Who knows, you might turn out to be as ‘good’ as Dermot, not be restricted to policing forum comment by implying posters are not entitled to an opinion, and get your own show.
