Seven players not previously announced to join Arsenal and a jolly jape.

By Sir Hardly Anyone

There are seven new players on Arsenal’s transfer list this week taking the grand total to 89 players who are said to be joining Arsenal this summer.  Last year it was 114 and we have got 31 days left to find the missing 26 players that will make this the all time record number of players said to be coming to Arsenal since records began – which was in fact last season.

And we have got seven updates on stories that have been run before as well.

But there does seem to be a fair about of shoulder shrugging going on as if the journalists who normally make these stories up and starting to say, “well no one believes us so what is the point?”

What is the point?

The point is this is what the newspapers and their bloggettas do in the summer.  They make up transfer stories.  If they stop, what then?  Blank pages that’s what!

Laugh of the Week

Meanwhile you might have noticed that we have been running this note

Sign the petition to protest against Kronke’s animal killing TV channel

as well as running a part of one of our articles on the story.   Anyway, about a day and a half after we made the first mention and protested about Kronke’s TV channel, and some six hours after we put up the petition we got this from Matt – a regular critic of Untold.

Where are the posts about Kroenkes bloodsport tendencies? If it had been the PGMOL or Abramovich we wouldn’t have heard the end of it.

Well, always happy to oblige Matt, so the link is above once more.

  1. I wonder if ‘Matt’ would still be a critic of Untold if he actually tried reading it?
Probably…. I expect he’s just an occasional visitor from the Le Childrens ‘fan’ site and has problems with the big words…

  2. Hi Tony
I understand that Donald Trump’s 11 year old son supports Arsenal. Surely you should run a petition against that !

  3. I wonder if there would have been made so much noise about Kroenke his TV channel if he had been spending money like some Russian does? Or some sheiks do?
Maybe the laughing one (and maybe the hoping one) is some other rich man who has been named in far worse crimes (against human beings) who seems to get a free ride in the media. Or nobody does dare to mention his dark history anymore?
But if I had to make a choice between an owner who has a TV channel about hunting or someone who has been involved in man-hunting….. I would know who to choose to be honest.

  4. Walter
As they say two wrongs don’t make a right. The Kroenke channel is distasteful to many people myself included and is yet another reason why I wish he wasn’t involved with our club.
Peter Hill- Wood was right after all when he said that Kroenke wasn’t our sort- and he isn’t

  5. Kroenke is a Trump supporter. He donated million dollars to Trump’s campaign according to the media. Trump of hate-spreading, dividing-wall-building, myzogine-speech conducting, billion-dollar-weapon-to-non-democratic-regimes selling behaviour.

That being said, this Kroenke’s crap is not connected with Arsenal. It’s not Arsenal TV Hunting Channel where Olivier Giroud shoots down tigers after pin-point assists from Mesut Ozil or where Granit Xhaka two-foots rhinos.

  6. That the Kroenke stuff has nothing to do with Arsenal is true but that’s not how the media will play it.The club will be dragged into it one way or another. Whether we like them or not big hitters like Corbyn and Morgan, an unlikely duo at best ,have been vocal and have raised The Arsenal in their quotes. The club seems to find the most obscure ways to self harm.

  7. Walter, perfect summary of the issue
although i’d add that the channel existed long before it was made available in UK
the recent outcry is just a way to get clicks
most animal species preservation programs are not paid with those clicks though, and instead are funded by trophy hunters

  8. Iheanacho goes to Leicester from Man City. Where are the days that some City supporters claimed that this youth product of them would set the world on fire and that those young lads would stop the spending for the future…. well….
I predicted that he would never get a serious chance at City. Seems I was right …

  9. So Kroenke should sell his shares according to that petition. I really would like to know to who he should sell them. I just counted my money and I think I am a little bit short…

  10. Walter

You are blessed. I wanted to count my money this morning but it turned out I cannot afford even that, never mind buying Kroenke’s shares. 🙁 It’s all Arsene’s fault…somehow.

  11. Alexanderhenry, Why would you be happy for Usmanov to own the club?
He’s stated many times that he’d want a dividend on his shares, which would be a much larger amount than the questionable £3m that Stans main business ‘earns’ from the club at the moment.

  12. Alexanderhenry type in his full name and blogspot in google. And look further down the pages
forgive me for not dancing in the street if he would become the owner of Arsenal….
Former British ambassador for Uzbekistan has written about him in the past and it doesn’t make a nice reading.
Mind you he might know how to deal with the PGMO……

  13. Andy, I’m not surprised he wants a dividend. He owns 30% of the club and has no say whatsoever. He is treated with utter contempt by kroenke and the BOD. if he had a controlling stake he would take nothing out of the club.

What he has said on numerous occasions is that arsenal fc have not given wenger adequate funds to compete over the years, which is quite right.

  14. Walter

Google kroenke and you’ll find that arsenal’s majority shareholder is notoriously silent, mean, dishonest, greedy, and as an owner of sports ‘franchises’, almost comically unsuccessful.

His blood sports channel has now made him disliked by almost everyone in the country as well as by most arsenal fans.

Are you really happy with him in charge?

  15. I still prefer a silent greedy man over a man who has seemingly (if one can believe a UK ambassador) been involved in mafia practices to be honest. However he might be handy in dealing with Riley like I said.

  16. @AlexanderHenry,

not liking someone is one thing. An affirmation that he is dishonest is another. Have you got facts like a court sentencing for illegal activities for examples, the same for ‘mean’, ‘greedy’ and ‘dishonnest’ ? This whole issue is just a way to keep the negative spotlight on Arsenal and nothing else.

As for the petition, it is the same thing. Posturing. As long as we talk about who owns and who sponsors and what is compatible with a club, how about the betting industry that is destroying some people financially ? How about sponsors from the Middle East known for their very humane (..) treatment of guest workers ?

Could we please go back to football and not play to tune the blogettas want us to play ?

  17. Chris

How did Kroenke treat the St Louis Rams?

I’ll answer that for you. He guaranteed them he wouldn’t move the franchise. Then he did move it- to LA.
He had also secured a loan from the city of st louis to pay for their new stadium.

Since he moved to LA the city of st louis are now obliged to pay the rest of the stadium debt off.

  18. @Stefan,

I don’t know the details. Guess my cursor for ‘dishonnest’ has been moved because today one’s word is not considered worth anything anymore.
Puts him in the same league as Neymar then. But if this is the issue, then where are the petitions to get rid of the other owner ?
From all I have read, he is not any better yet there are fans wanting him to take over.

As said, this is just a (anti-Arsenal) distraction and not a football issue, or the subject would be all owners of all PL clubs.

  19. Alexanderhenry, You seem to have misunderstood Usmanov.
He stated quite clearly that if he was the owner (just him) he’d want a dividend.
Nothing about him only wanting it while he remains a smaller shareholder…

  20. @Chris

Yes. Betting companies are pure evil but their lobby is too strong to keep them away from sport. We have banned cigarettes from the dugout, nobody drinks alcohol there either and now let’s tackle betting business that has a big interest in actual outcomes of sporting events.

The problem is, it’s similar to the doping stuff that Tony has covered many, many times.
