Arsenal v Huddersfield, the teams, the scandals

By Bulldog Drummond

And so the general news.   We have a new twisted headline which makes out that a Mr P. Guardiola has inside knowledge about Manchester City and their doings in terms of sponsorship.  The result is headlines such as “Club won’t be banned says Guardiola.”

What he actually said was, “We will not be banned. That’s what I think.  I trust what my chairman and CEO have explained to me. If it does happen, we will accept it and move forward.”

It is the second half of the comment that is actually much more interesting than the first, for this is exactly the opposite of what the club is alleged to have said during the discussions about their expenditure.

As for Arsenal, as we know, we’ve lost Rob Holding for the season, maybe more. But Mr Emery as always is moving on.  He said in the lead up to this game,

“Football happens very quickly, with positive things, negative things, but you need to learn. And you need to create a new victory, a new way every day. We want to create a stronger idea with good positioning on the pitch with the ball, good combinations between us so we can dominate the match.

“But we know the opposition want to do the same. And we want to be further away from our box when the opposition has the ball. Our challenge is improving this. We are conceding more goals than we want. Our balance is positive but we can improve that and every day we are working tactically. We want to confirm in every match our improvement.”

What we do have is not only the top scorer but a fast goalscorer and another top scorer lurking a little further down the lists.

  1. Okay, we will know latter if Monreal has sufficiently recovered from his hamstring to return for Arsenal today and start in a back three defence for our Huddesfield game this afternoon. But as for me, I went for a back four Arsenal defense-line without the inclusion of Monreal in it for Huddesfield.

BD, the Arsenal 3-2-2-3 playing formation style that have inform senior game starting Gunners in it as starters is looking to be a very strong starts and strong enough to beat Huddesfield this afternoon in the PL. But let’s wait to see what kind of starts and bench Emery have for the match when he makes them known. At any rate and in my own thinking, Arsenal should wallop Huddesfield Town FC this afternoon at the Ems by at least 5 nll to improve on their goals difference in the table.

And I will like it if the would be not very fit yet to start or play Ozil, Ramsey, Koscielny and even the want to see start today, Monreal are given further recovering time to still recover from their injustices even if the Arsenal medical center has declared them fit to play today but Emery should exclude them from participating in the Huddesfield game today. However, the quartet could return to action to play against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup when I believe Arsenal should need their services more than they’ll need them today against Huddesfield. For, Arsenal have enough senior Gunners on ground as of today that can beat Huddesfield. So, there is no need in my own thinking for Emery to play any of the 4 who might have recovered fully from their injuries and fit to play today

  3. The out of the season ACL kind of injury suffered to Rob Holding in our last away match to Man U in the PL last Wednesday night could have been avoided but for his been over played in games by Emery I am sorry to opined.

Holding is a young Arsenal defender who have shown to have a lot of game playing stamina that has made Emery to continue starting him week in week out in games for Arsenal without giving a game rest. But the Gunners head coach should have known that he’s not a machine but a young man that’s still at a young age and has not yet fully grown up as a man of 25 years old and above who can withstand the brutal game that comes with Man U game against Arsenal in the PL. Which more or less has become a tradition for Man U to play against Arsenal in the PL. I watched Paul Pogba intentionally stepped forcefully on Bellerin’s foot intending to cause him grievous harm in the match between the duo clubs at Ems in the PL last season. But Bellerin was fortunate to have escaped being seriously injured.

  4. Are you guys ever planning on fixing the issue with this site appearing in the mobile format whilst on a computer?

  5. Early game – Bourne at home to Liverpool!

A short while ago in the medja, Klopp is making all this noise about how clean a team Liverpool! is and how they don’t play dirty.

According to the stats, Bournemouth committed 9 fouls and were carded twice today (12 and 15 minutes). Liverpool committed 11 fouls and were carded once (70 minutes).

What do the treatments say? Bournemouth had 3 treatments (44, 50 and 54 minutes) and Liverpool had 1 (88). All were fairly short (1 or 2 minutes), and none required a substitution. The treatments suggest Liverpool! probably needed at least one more card, and much sooner than 70 minutes. But Lee Mason was just carrying out the wishes of 😈 Mike Riley.

No cards on any treatment, which is typical.

  6. Xhaka gets fouled. The ref stops play and books Xhaka and gives Huddersfield the foul!!! What a fu7kin disgrace.

  7. Commentary briefly suggested that Huddersfield had gotten a yellow card, now changed to show that Xhaka is again first in the book. Six fouls by Huddersfield to our 2, and we get the first card.

    COYG!

  8. The referee is so poor even his FIFA badge is trying to jump of his shirt. His booking of Xhaka was a joke but it took him alooooong time to book Hddersfied for fouls after several evaded bookings.

  9. Absolutely disgraceful performance from both Huddersfield and the PIGMOB. How often do you actually see players getting yellow cards for going down slightly too easy? Never. A yellow card is only ever awarded when you see a player literally dive from no contact. Why is it one rule for us yet one rule for everyone else? Looks like those spineless crooks at the PIGMOB are doing their absolute best to try and stop our unbeaten run.

  10. Tierney books Mustafi for simulation after he is felled with contact. If there was no contact then it would be simulation but being forcaed togodown is not simulation. Tierney is simulating Riley and the PGMOL method of cheating.

  11. I am watching the match live. Period to Lacazette’s disallowed goal by the Pgmo anti-Arsenal linesman flagging. Laca’ failed to take his chance to score as he blazed over from inside the box when attempting to adjust his footing to take a shot at goal but he was closed down by a defender. He should take the shot first time. Earlier, Auba’ had missed a sitter for Arsenal. And they’ve brought on Iwobi and Mkhi’ in the 2nd half. Hope the 2 changes will impact positively for Arsenal.

  12. Arsenal dropping 4 vital points away to Crystal Palace and unexpectedly at home to Wolves is now at week 16 in the PL campaign appearing to hurt them in the race for the top 4th place finish this season as both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur who beat the Vardyless Leicester attack 0-2 are not yielding ground in the PL campaign for Arsenal to have a respite and drink some water to cool down in the table. In the PL, Arsenal play Southampton at away next followed at home against Burnley all winnable games before their big clash away to Liverpool. Arsenal should please not make the mistake about it again to drop any point out of the 9 they will contest for to collect before the turn of the year. For, as Chelsea have this evening at the Bridge shown that Man City can be beaten in the PL, so too Arsenal should show Liverpool too that they can be beaten at Anfield by Arsenal in the PL on 29th December. And of course before then, Arsenal would have dealt Tottenham a blow at the Ems in the League Cup. And on Thursday night next week, beat the Azerbaijan’s club side Qarabag FK in the Europa at the Ems to not only remain unbeaten but also be on a 5 game winning run before the year runs out.
