Yet another clutch of transfers as Arsenal head towards 100 pre-window rumours

As you may have noticed we rather unusually had a suggestion for a number of other players who have been listed as transfers for Arsenal this summer, whom we have missed.

Obviously, a journal of such esteem as ours does need to check our sources, and we have assiduously been going through the list kindly provided by “J”.  Here are the details.

Hakim Ziech, attacking midfielder or winger with Ajax.  Wiki says that last year he was selected as one of the 20 best players in the Champions League for 2018/19 season.

There are indeed stories from last year of him coming to Arsenal, and from the January transfer window, but I’m not currently finding a source that says it is on for this window.

Everton Soares is another player that Arsenal were said to be looking at, but Edu pulled out of this and said he would not sign the player.  He is a 24 year old forward with Grêmio, but I can’t see a disreputable source saying that this is on for this summer.  One has to remember that such things are normally easy to spot since the bloggettas and newspaper joints tend to move as herds or swarms.

Mohammed Salisu however is more interesting because Mundo Deportivo has indeed said that Arsenal are among the clubs interested along with Fiorentina, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Napoli are also interested.  Salisu plays for Real Valladolid; he’s a defender with a €12 million release clause.

Thiago Almada has featured in Teamtalk, with them blaming Mundo Deportivo.   He’s an Argentinian and there is a release clause of €22million.    Manchester City and Atletico Madrid are also “monitoring his progress” which is ludicrous given that football is in lockdown., with Sarsfield expecting to sell this summer.  He is 19 years old and a winger or midfielder.   AS and the Manchester Evening News have also run the story.

Moussa Dembele  is actually already listed in our review.

Thomas Lemar is a name that has been around in every window since glazing was invented it seems, but he is indeed back in the Daily Star, and yes we missed him.  Indeed The Sun ran it as well.

Raul Jimenez    The BBC and NBC now have this story.  He’s a 29-year-old Mexican playing for Wolverhampton as a forward.

Zaha was, you will remember was all over the transfer stories last time around with his move form Crystal Palace, but to no avail, and it seems a bit unlikely that the story could be revived what with our buying Pepe, but now Sky Sprouts have it afresh.

Edinson Cavani to Arsenal was another of the January stories, and I can’t see it at the moment so we’ll leave that one out for now, at least until we find it in a current rag.

But still not a bad haul… nine names and we’ll accept Jimenez, Lemar, Almada, Salisu and Ziech as additions to our list.

Meanwhile from the blogs today we have these three…

Report claims Arsenal have started discussions to reunite Arteta with speedy attacker,  That is HITC saying According to Todo Fichajes, Arsenal have ‘started conversations’ to sign Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo this summer.  So that’s another new one.  Number six to add.

Rafinha Alcantara: Arsenal has emerged as a potential destination for Barcelona play-maker Rafinha Alcantara

Why Arsenal agreeing Philippe Coutinho swap deal with Barcelona would mean nothing announces the Daily and Sunday Express.  The answer after 15 paragraphs of twaddle is that Arsenal could not afford his wages.  So that one doesn’t really count as a transfer rumour.

And although it is not a transfer FoLo give us the lo-down on Matt Smith, now labelled a wonderkid.   He is 19 and has played for the under 23s, a lifelong Arsenal supporter, and central midfielder.  Now we know.
