Of course it is not surprising that the media are inventing Arsenal transfer stories right, left and centre. They cost nothing and with over 115,000 professional players in the world to choose from there’s still plenty more to name.
And the back is, as Caughtoffside said, “Arsenal have had so many problems over the years when it comes to contracts and extensions: The main issue has been handing out huge long-term deals to those who aren’t worth it while the contracts of their stars have been allowed to run into the final year…”
Sadly no comparative evidence was provided.
A different view comes from Just Arsenal who say Stan Kroenke has never been one to spend too much money and we shouldn’t expect him to act too differently all of a sudden. We’ll come back to this shortly, to see how we compare with other clubs in recent years.
Anyway we have got six new names since we last ran the chart (just four days ago) of players tipped to come to Arsenal by those who proclaim to be in the know. And a lot of updates too.

I don’t really know why you bother with all this now as apparently, according to poster Bertie Mee anyway, we can get all the accurate up to date information about our potential transfers straight from the horses mouth in the shape of a certain Mr Ornstein.

Bertie claims he has predicted Arsenals last 20 signings accurately. Is that true?
I’m not saying it is or isn’t, but if he is Arsenals ‘official’ mouth piece and he is that good then all you ever have to do is listen to him to know who we’re going to sign and who we are not going to sign.

In your article, number 1& 85 are the same player. So also is 18 and 22.
No one is arsenals official mouthpiece.. Until its on arsenal.com and the player is holding a red and white shirt with number, don’t believe anything you read…

I’m with you, but Bertie Mee seems to think this Ornstein character is our ‘official mouthpiece’ getting his last 20 predictions correct. I find that hard to believe but if he says he has who am I to argue. Anyway he’s going to show me the proof. Of course he will 🤣

I did a bit of googling. I saw Ornstein use the phrase “according to reports” quite a lot and apart from predicting the Oedegard loan and the sale of Ozil (which everybody else in the country predicted), I can’t really see him saying anything concrete apart from this in the Athletic on 7th Jan 2021, “Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is close to signing a pre-contract agreement to join a foreign club, David Ornstein and James McNicholas can reveal.”
Three months later he signed a four year contract……..to stay at Arsenal.
So Bertie, one can only assume he knows eveything about he we’re going to sign but naff all about who we’re going to sell or offer new contracts?!!
Bertie knows just like Ornstein. Arsenal are going to reappoint Bertie as manager and ornstein as the agent for transfers. By the way Bertie don’t forget to wet the transfers before you apply them. 😉 😉

Thanks for doing some research. To be honest I couldn’t be asked because frankly I wasn’t going to waste my time (I do enough research to know just how long it takes) looking for something I doubted very much existed. Instead I asked Bertie to show be the 20 examples of which he spoke:

He has as yet failed to show me them.
Bertie appears to have an issue with Tony’s premise that almost all Arsenal transfer stories (97%) are fake news, including news from the Athletic and Ornstein:

Tony must be reading this and I’m sure if he put more credibility in what The Athletic and Ornstein predict he would say. And even if they where a little closer to Arsenal than others, which They/He may well be, I find it hard to believe he’s predicted the last 20 signings ? As I said, if that was so we could all be very rich on the back of endless winning wagers.
I’m also sure Berties reading us Doubting Thomas’s and will be here very soon showing us those 20 predictions of which he speaks.
