A rather poor first half but a better second half. Leading to a surprise score when Blackburn won the game and Dean getting a decent score in a ref review.
The penalty given to Blackburn was a clear one. Berbatov pulling Samba by the shirt. Manchester United escaped a second penalty when Berbatov did  the same shirt pulling later. Dean found one penalty against United enough.

The wrong calls favoured United a lot but it couldn’t stop Blackburn on the day.

  1. Walter, Reviewers,
Please consider placing or noting the Date of the match under review somewhere near the top of the article. Knowing this date would help readers to understand its chronology and proximity to and significance for Arsenal matches, and to compare ref performances with/for different sides. Cheers for your continually important work.

  2. Excellent review 04, and thanks. Dean never gives Arsenal the benefit with his wrong decisions but manages to do so for United –absolutely incredible!!!

  3. Do do a review of Spurs Wolves and Man City-Spurs: if accuracy is the prime focus, you will note unfortunate decisions which lost Spurs 5 pts arguably. With those decisions the other way, table reads 51pt all three top clubs. As it is, Alan Hansen has written Spurs off for the title.

Course, if the only reason for doing this is to change Arsenal results, fine.

But do remove your moralising if so……..you’re doing it as Arsenal supporters, which is fine.

If you’re doing it as people urging the FA/EPL to do its job, you’ll look critically at decisions which affect league titles………

    Your choice………

The reviews you speak of may not be up yet, but even you should know by now that the point of the reviews is not “change Arsenal results”.
Please don’t insult the hard work put in by the reviewers just because you want a review done for your beloved spurs. You could have just asked.

  5. Rhys,

I’m a very calm person but if you please would come down to earth a bit and look for some reviews of Tottenham games already done. And you can take the Stoke game as an example. Done on this site and our conclusion was that Tottenham were getting an Arsenal treatment.

So speaking without bothering to check things makes a person look stupid. But feel free to act like that.

I will give you a hint: start looking at the first day of the year.

And if you feel embarrassed with your comment after reading that review you can always apologise by the ref reviewer. Don’t worry it wasn’t me so you will not have to apologise towards me.

The ManC-Tot game will be reviewed and I think also the Tot – wolves game is still at the waiting list.
