If your comment has not been published…

By Tony Attwood

I’ve received a number of emails from readers complaining that their emails are not being published on the site.   These problems began several months back and we’ve been trying to find the cause and resolve the problem ever since.

Even now, several months on I am not sure what has gone wrong, but the most likely explanation is that we have been running this and some other web sites on a server that needs updating.  So we are in the process of doing that.

Second, Untold and the History site were both set up using the standard Word Press program – which didn’t seem to be an issue at first, but as the site has grown to over three quarters of a million visits a month, I’m wondering if that might be part of the problem.

Anyway we’re trying to do what we can, but in the meanwhile, if you have had an email that has not been published I suggest you do this…

When you are ready, send in another comment, but if at all possible change both your user name and the email address you are using.

If it doesn’t appear and you don’t get a note back saying it is held in moderation, email Tony.Attwood@aisa.org and tell me

1.  The email address you quoted

2.  The user name you are using

3.  If you are a subscriber or not.

4.  The time and date you sent the comment in.

and I’ll do my best.

I would ask that you allow me some time on this.  The site has grown to an enormous size, and yet it is still run as a sideline – all of us involved have full time jobs too.  But we will try and get this sorted.

  1. Sorry Tony! I know this is totally irrelevant to your post, but I feel I’ve just got to say it….

SAY WE ARE TOP O’THE LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE TOP O’THE LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE TOP………………

  2. Oh, so, so sorry Tony, but I just can’t stop –
SAY WE ARE TOP O’THE LEAGUE , SAY WE ARE TOP O’THE LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE TOP O’ THE LEAGUE, SAY WE ARE TOP………………
Right, that’s it, I feel better now!

  3. Question, do we have to be mindful of using banned people’s user names, as this will lead to comments being held in moderation?

If so can we have the key words that will hold comments up.

  4. I work in the IT field and let me tell you that these ‘issues’ as we call them are the world’s biggest ball breakers! Most of the time nobody really knows the cause of the problem so it will be analysed for a while and then they come out with upgrade will fix it as its needed anyway.
Then lo and behold the problem comes back again or it doesn’t come back, but still they don’t know what caused it so it will happen again.

Anyway, not saying this going to happen to you at all Tony just my 2bob worth.

@Dats. I been quietly and secretly saying that to myself too, but we still have 32games to go and anything can happen, but if we just concentrate on the next game we can look up after 31 games and see where we are!

    COYG!!!
