It’s now 18 Arsenal players tipped to leave the club this summer; 76 to arrive in the great Transfer Fairy Story.

By Sir Hardly Anyone

With the Guardian and Telegraph now both running articles questioning Mourinho’s relationship with reality and most trying to pretend that Barcelona is not a club closely linked with law breaking at every level (child trafficking, tax evasion, false accounting…) we turn once again with relief to that island of insanity, the great list of every player said to be coming to or leaving Arsenal.

The number of players tipped to being sourced by Arsenal with a view to transfer in is now 76.  Of whom we have purchased two.

Perhaps more remarkable 18 members of the first team squad are said to be leaving.   Which is by and large the first team squad – except for Giroud.

Now I find that interesting.  Giroud, as we know, is the player that most aaa fans focus their hatred and bile on – despite the fact that the figures and indeed his work in France show him to be a highly regarded and successful player all round.

That link suggests the truth in all this – the transfer rumours are invented primarily with the aim of knocking Arsenal – so that eventually someone somewhere is going to invent the story shortly that Arsenal have been touting Giroud around Europe but can’t find a buyer.

It is all nonsense of course – a fantasy world – but one with an edge, since many simple souls tend to believe all this stuff.  Our hope is that by being the first ever people to pull all the transfer rumours together across a whole window, we will show just how utterly insane the whole thing in.

It is in fact a fairy story for men who have never grown up.

  1. Its Saturday and dad is working in the garden and feeling a bit hungry when his six year daughter comes running to him and says
    ‘Daddy, whats sex?’

Surprised that at her age she is asking the question he thinks ‘well we did agree that when our children ask the big questions we would give them an honest answer’.

He starts to explain about the birds and the bees as simply as he can. However the more he says so it seems that her face says she doesn’t understand.

He says to her ‘Why do you ask?’

She replies, ‘Well its just that mummy said to tell you that lunch will be ready in a couple of secs.’

  2. First and foremost, let me thank Ryan F for his rotating the phone at 90 degrees tip to view yesterday’s last topic article posting in the landscape mode. I tried it for yesterday’s posting and it worked and even tried it on today’s article posting and it worked too.

The rumour mill is making us to believe that Arsenal are still targeting their possible signing of Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid valued @ £57m. And if Madrid insisted on the £57m transfer activating clause they’ve placed on Morata, and will not accept a lower transfer fee, Arsenal will turn to the signing of Alexandre Lacazette of Lion or Romelu Lukaku of Everton.

How credible are these specialist strikers transfer rumours linked with Arsenal? Whatever be the case, both the Boss and us have agreed that Arsenal will need to sign a marquee striker for Arsenal this summer and also sign a top class center halfback too.

The Boss has said, he’all be looking at bringing in 3 bodies into Arsenal senior squad this summer. After bringing in Xhaka, does the likely to be brought in the Japanese Takuma Asano 21 constitutes a senior player who will among the trio the Boss planned to bring in? If so, then it means he will only brings in that marquee striker we’ve been craving to have and that’s all. But we need a top class CB and the rumour mill has not linked Arsenal with the signing of any top class center halfback since the rumour mill started milling out transfer rumours this summer. Or have I forgotten?

It’s beginning to look like Chambers will not be loaned out this summer if Arsenal didn’t sign a CB this window and keep all their 4 CBs of: Rhinosacker, Koscielny, De Abreu and Chambers intact at Arsenal for at least this summer. The Boss and his experts must have identified the Gunners problem of not winning the title last season to be striker based. And the signing of Xhaka is to replaced one of the departed Arteta and Rosicky, more likely Arteta.

I think the signing of my prefer striker Morata, could bring to an end of the Boss’ planned 3 summer signings for Arsenal. If Madrid will sell him to Arsenal for £47m maximum, I’ll advice Arsenal to sign him. But no any attached string like the buyback clause after, should be accepted by Arsenal. After all, Madrid would have double £23m as profit Juventus would have paid them had Morata stayed for 4 years or so with them.

  4. According to the report which has emanated on the Espnfc, the FA are looking to be still very keen at appointing the Boss as the next England manager to succeed Roy Hudgson who has resigned after England got eliminated at the 2nd round of the Euro’16 tourney in France.

My kindid advice to the Boss is, he shouldn’t wait until next year when his current deal at Arsenal has expired before becoming the England manager if the FA genuinely offered him the appointment. Subject to the Arsenal hierarchies agreeing to a first and it’s kind simultaneous managing 2 top jobs in the anal of football management history, the Boss should let the FA know when they call him for the discrete meeting between them and him that, he’s prepared to accept the England manager top job straight straightaway but on the condition that he will continue to remain the Arsenal manager till the end of the incoming season. And he will do the 2 top jobs together and see England through their World Cup qualifiers which begins from September this year.

I believe the Boss can convince the Arsenal bosses to allow him to run the Arsenal and the England jobs together at the same time if at all he wants the England job and wants to do the 2 jobs simultaneously as I am suggesting..

  5. I never heard Asano mentioned anywhere before he was signed… Media on the ball as ever.
