All the players being tipped today by journalists as coming to Arsenal – and the team.

By Sir Hardly Anyone

I know how tough it is to have to plough through line after line of bland gibberish at the start of each article telling you for the 93rd time this week that Arsenal are desperate to sign players after missing out on the champions league at the end of last season.

And how annoying it is, how slow those blogs and websites can sometimes be at loading because of the hundreds of pop up adverts here there and everywhere.  (And yes we have some, but we try and keep them under control so you don’t use an ad blocker.  If no one clicks on our adverts we don’t have the money to pay to keep this site running).

Anyway, I thought as my good turn for the day I’d set out all of today’s stories one after the other with a minimal of introductory chit chat (apart from this bit).

Here we go…

1: Dani Ceballos

Arsenal are set to sign Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid with no agreed price on a future transfer. ( Caught Offside).  He will sign for us today (Tuesday) says Sport Witness.

Football London give us the headline “The shirt numbers available”.  They are 3, 8, 12, 13, 19 and 22.  Isn’t that exciting!!!

Ceballos jets in (according to 442).  (Any moment now we will have him “seen at the airport”).

“Arsenal working on deal to sign Real Madrid’s Ceballos” (The Independent)

“The move is almost complete” Sport Witness.

But it could mean that Ozil is on the way out (Just Arsenal)

Interestingly North Wales Live has “Liverpool FC set to miss out on another transfer target”.  Notice the use of “Another” in that headline.  They haven’t been reading the Arsenal blogs have they?

He’s flying in for his medical.  (Arsenal Station)

2: Everton Soares

Edu has said that we are signing Everton Soares (the Daily Star).

3: Saliba

Saliba is undergoing his medical today (Football Talk although they blame the Daily Mail, which I suppose is fair enough since I blame the Daily Mail for everything.)

He’s flying in for his medical.  (Arsenal Station) Let’s hope his plane does not collide with that of Ceballos.

4: Kieran Tierney

He is not signing for Arsenal (Read Arsenal).

The problem is we don’t have enough money to buy him (90 minutes online)

5: “Arsenal star to leave” (Lancs Live)

Unfortunately they don’t tell us who.

6: Griezmann (Caught offside)

“Antoine Griezmann has admitted that he’s eager to play with Arsenal and France star Alexandre Lacazette amid reports the player is a £70M target for Barcelona.”

7:  Nketiah

He’s not going out on loan.  (Football Ghana)

8: Malcolm

Barcelona signed Malcom from Bordeaux last summer and he struggled for minutes in his first season at the Camp Nou.  So he might come to Arsenal. (Sport Witness)

9:  Pepe

Pepe is or is not coming to Arsenal according to Football London.  Their piece is confusing, but I think the implication is that Manchester United have offered more money than Arsenal’s entire transfer budget.

10: Ismael Bennacer

“Former Arsenal talent Ismael Bennacer has arrived at AC Milan to sign his contract with the club, as he finalises an exit from Empoli.” (Football London)

11: Keita Balde

The Daily Post have a nice ironic twist with the headline “Fiorentina have held talks with Monaco to secure a deal for Arsenal linked Keita Balde in the ongoing summer transfer window.”

12:  Nicolas Tagliafico

Given that Celtic won’t play with us over Tierney, the Metro says we are returning to thoughts of Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico

13: Zaha

“Zaha on” says the headline from A Cultured Left Foot.

And finally

Read Arsenal have a predicted line up for the game against Real Madrid

Leno

Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Chambers, Kolasinac

Willock Xhaka

Aubameyang      Ozil    Nelson

Lacazette

  1. With all those planes flying around with players to get their medicals… indeed let us hope they don’t collide.
Mind you I think Ceballos will be really flying towards Arsenal as we play Real Madrid this night somewhere.
And as for Saliba… he was seen with Aubameyang and a few other Arsenal players when watching a match in the USA where St. Etienne is also playing some pre season matches.

  2. Steve Brown
    23/07/2019
Who does he play for? Nobody?

Unless you saw Brickfields bull with a ball & think he’s coming?

  3. Us Gooners can only agitate this summer transfer window to see our consensus new player us want to see play for Arsenal get signed by club. But even as us agitate having inordinate passion wanting Arsenal to win the PL title and the ELC next season, us can’t compel Arsenal to sign any new player who they don’t want or who they don’t have the financial capacity to sign.

In this wise, us should not be over optimistic in our optimism for Arsenal to see them sign all the 4 top quality players whom they’ve been linked with this summer and have submitted biddings to their clubs to sign them this summer. But us should bear in mind that the Arsenal hierarchy Chieftains who are managing the club and responsible for transfers have been limited to spend only £45m on incoming players signing this summer. This transfer signing limitation is a punishment handed down on the club top management officials for their failing to make the club owner target of qualifying Arsenal for the Champions League next season. And from all indications, it doesn’t look the financial limitation of £45m transfer kitty imposed on the club this summer will be reviewed upward.

But if the management hierarchy staff who are running the club can convince the club owner Stan Kroenke, that Arsenal will surely win the 2 big titles that the club will contest for next season but if he Kroenke sanctioned additional fund of £100m be released to the club for new players signing this summer apart of the £40.5m that is remaining in the club transfer kitty this summer. Which will bring the total amount of cash made available to the club this summer for new signings to £145m in total.

Thus, this £145m in total if is given to club this summer to do new top quality signings will financial equipped the club hierarchy bosses this summer transfer window to sign the top 4 quality players the club officials want to sign this summer. Such new top quality players as Wilfred Zaha, Everton Soares, Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal this summer but not on loan. And therefore, Stan Kroenke will be guaranteed the PL title and ElC wins next season by the Arsenal hierarchy bosses who will personally take the 2 title trophies and the Europa to Stan Kroenke in his United States of America residence as a mark of showing him respect and to thank him for bailing Arsenal FC out of the financial difficulty it got into.

I think if the Arsenal hierarchy Chieftains charged to run the club for club owner Stan Kroenke will guaranteed him seeing Arsenal win the PL title and the ELC next season unfailingly. Stan Kroenke could have a change of heart to give the sum of money they want to do 4 new top quality player signings this summer window. But can they give him such unfailingly guarantee?

  4. The Madrid friendly doesn’t look too friendly with some high tackles & brute force. Despite that a penalty for a handball stopping a goal gave Lacazette the first. The Madrid no 6 got a red card.
Arsenal get a second from Aubamayang. Madrid still cheating like kids & getting away without punishment. The officiating is slack all round.

  5. Shameful Madrid player get Sokrates sent off by deliberate diving in quick succession. This gets the teams on par 10 v 10 but the shameful tactics of Madrid leaves a lot to be desired from the officials.

  6. Is there any _GOOD_ coverage of this game? Guardian hasn’t noticed anything unusual to this point.

  7. In the 45th minute Aubamayang puts the ball past the last Madrid defender and gets a blatant block that the referee does not see. The selective blindness is not limited to PGMOL.

  8. I’m watching on Sport TV 1 with Portuguese commentary. The game was supposed to be shown on eir & Setanta sports.

  9. An off side pass, a kick of the ball from the keepers hands and nothing is given!! What a farce these officials are. What a cheating bunch of Madrid over paid so called footballers. Arsenal 2 Madrid 1

  10. Arsenal kids coming on for the seniors after 75 mins. Shame the Madrid players get away with cheating to get Sokratis sent off and to get their first goal.

  11. Our kids are awesome. They made some super chances but missed. It is wonderful to see such quality in our youth.

  12. Looks like it has gone to penalties. Our Invincible kids v the cheating Galacticos.

  13. The Sokratis second yellow which resulted in him being sent off was an absolute farce, the weak ref reacting to being surrounded by Madrid players shouting and gesticulating at him. A pity but we played well and should have won the game as we missed two or three great chances near the end of the game. I watched the game on Premier Sports but had to turn the sound off though as I got fed up with the commentators constantly criticising our players, especially the defence, and fawning over Bale with every breath.

  14. Emery said with the injury to Asensio he is not sure if it may affect Ceballos’ loan.

  15. I see the same old regurgitated rubbish being spouted from some posters on here .Cheating English referees ,cheating Europeam referees ..Always against Arsenal.Menace i can half understand because hes special but the other few whats your excuse. If you want to vent your anger why dont you vent it at Kronke who owns and runs the club as a cash cow and is fleecing the English Arsenal supporters who pay massively to follow their club.

  16. nick – did you watch the game? Would you like to buy an onion? The onion will help your breathing and clear your eyes.

Read the reports on the game and you will realise that my take and that of MickHazel was correct.

Kronke was not officiating nor playing so his ownership does not come into the equation.

  17. Well, 7 of the 12 teams in this “tournament” will finish below Arsenal: B Munich, Fiorentina, Juventus, R Madrid, I Milan, Guadalajara and Milan.

  18. I see the same old regurgitated rubbish being spouted from nick.
Did you watch the match nick?
