20 Arsenal transfer stories that have appeared in the last couple of days

By Sir Hardly Anyone.

Here are the current round of tittle tattle and tales.  But please do remember most of these are set up just so that afterwards journalists and bloggers can say that Arsenal have failed to get these players.

1: Bruno Fuchs (The Boot Room, Just Arsenal)

“Arsenal have joined AC Milan and FC Porto in scouting Internacional centre-back Bruno Fuchs ahead of the summer window,” is the story.

Fuchs is a 21-year-old defender who has made 14 senior appearances for Internacional and is one of the country’s best prospects, apparently.  It is also said that Ajax are interested.

2:  Orkun Kokcu (Metro, Just Arsenal)

Arsenal are allegedly submitting an offer for Feyenoord’s £23m midfielder Orkun Kokcu

3: Moussa Dembele (Media Referee, the Sun, L’Equipe)

“42 goals, 13 assists – Arsenal signing this 23-year-old French star would be a terrific move indeed” is the story here.  He plays for Olympique Lyon and is seen as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who has been linked with Inter Milan.

4:  Selling Bellerin (Caught Offiside, Metro)

“Arsenal find themselves in a strange situation where they need to sell players in order to raise funds for any new arrivals,” says the CO site.  “Mikel Arteta could be forced to decide who he can do without.”

A report from Todofichajes has suggested that PSG have opened talks with Arsenal over a move for Bellerin, with a fee of €30m being mooted.

Metro says Hector Bellerin remains committed to Arsenal, but will reportedly only sign a new long-term deal if he sees sustained improvement in performances. ESPN claim Bellerin is not thinking about a move at the moment and has three years left on his deal.

Note the word “Reportedly” from the Metro.  Most sites dropped that word after we published a dictionary definition of its real meaning, but the Metro obviously thought they could sneak it back in.  It means, “This is what we have been told, but we don’t believe the source.”

5: Thomas Partey (FoLo)_

According to  Ekow Amoasi, Thomas Partey is keen on leaving Atletico Madrid to join Arsenal   He said: “Expect Partey to play in Arsenal next season, expect him to be in England, I can assure you of that.

“Partey wants to play for Arsenal, he wants to be in England. Last week, I’ve been told that [Michael] Essien has got in touch with him and I wouldn’t be surprised because close sources tell me that Partey wants to play in England and especially Arsenal.”

Continuing the story FoLo also say, “Thomas Partey release clause and contract stance confirmed as Arsenal plot move.”

6:  Ryan Fraser (HITC)

This transfer has been “likely” since the start of the year, but the Metro now says, “Ryan Fraser no longer a‘priority’transfer target for Arsenal and Tottenham.”   Bit of a let down after all the previous build up.

7:  George Lewis (Daily Canon)

The deal is done.  I think we knew that.

8.  Philippe Coutinho (Just Arsenal, Football Insider, Sky Sports, Caught Offside)

“Philippe Coutinho has also been linked with Tottenham, and apparently our rivals have been told that they and other clubs can sign him on loan for a fee of just £8 million,”

Caught Offside says that we would only be prepared to bring in the 27-year-old on a temporary deal.  Nothing about payment to the agent though.  Presumably that comes later.

9: Physio gone

Arsenal’s first-team physiotherapist Paulo Barreira has left the club after nearly three years in his role.

10:   Victor Osimhen: (Goal, Footy Extras)

Lille say they have had multiple offers including from Arsenal.  He’s a 21 year old forward.

But “According to a host of reports, the north Londoners will be unable to spend big money during the next market due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.”

It is interesting that it is only Arsenal that won’t be signing players.  We must do a list of all the players Goal have linked us to.  And find out why the crisis is not affecting all the other clubs.

11  Robert Pires (Tribal Football)

“There are some who have made the decision to be a coach or sports director or to be a consultant. I had taken this route and it allows me to still be in football,” he said.   “But, I think that coaching is a good job, even if it’s hard on a daily basis. I think that in the years to come, I will decide to pass the coaching diplomas. And I plan to do it in Spain..”  Robert, as you will recall has a Portuguese father and Spanish mother.

12.   Rabiot (ICF Football News)

1-year and out! Arteta all set to wrap up £200,000-a-week deal as Juventus looking to offload midfielder Rabiot.

13  Sardar Azmoun of Zenit St Petersburg (Daily Star, Area Napoli)

He is a goal scoring centre forward.  We are singing him.

14  Patrik Schick. La Gazzetta dello Sport

According to them, he is with Roma on loan to RB Leipzig, and is a 24-year-old Czech attacker is enjoying a brilliant loan spell with the Bundesliga club, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances this season. And we want him.

15.  Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (HITC, Mail)

Barcelona want Auba for just £18 million, according to the Daily Mail.

16. Joelson Fernandes (TBR Football, A Bola)

“Portuguese publication Record recently claimed that Arsenal are keen to sign the Sporting Lisbon wonderkid.   The Gunners appear to be a potential destination for Joelson due to agent Kia Joorabchian’s good relationship with Premier League clubs.”  Goal described him as a Teen Wing Wizard, which rather sounds like something made up by The Who.

17. Said Benrahma (Football League World, Express)

An Algerian who plays for Brentford having joined from Nice last summer, scoring 10 and getting eight assists this season.  According to Foot Mercato he is going to cost €30-35m and West Ham, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Leicester City want him.

18.  Ricky Jade-Jones i(HITC, Sky Sports)

Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool are after this Peterborough United player who is said to be Jamie Vardy II with extra pace. “A teenager with searing pace might be just 11 league games into his professional career but a move to one of the biggest clubs in England is already emerging as a genuine possibility.”

19. Emil Roback (TBR)

He has “extreme speed and elegance” and he plays for Hammarby in Sweden.  He’s 17 and he’s a forward.  Bayern Munich also want him, but he has been spotted at London Colney.

20. Odsonne Edouard (Daily Record)

The Rangers manager has asked Arsenal to “get him away” from Celtic according to the paper.  He is 22 and lots of clubs want him.  He has scored 37 goals in 59 games.

21.  Mo Elneny (Sportime)

And that is it.

The 101 coming to Arsenal this summer.
