“We won’t sell to Arsenal”, a worrying trend and 26 transfer rumours!

Arteta’s revolution:

By Sir Hardly Anyone

If you have been with Untold Arsenal through previous transfer windows you will know that we like to keep track on some of the players who are tipped by the media to be coming to Arsenal.

The highest number of accurate predictions ever was achieved last summer when fractionally over 3% of the predictions turned out to be true.

January transfers are normally smaller in number but this never stops the media from inventing (sorry, “reporting”) transfer tales, and so far we’ve noted 26 players said to be interesting Arsenal.

Of course transfer rumours may not mean a transfer, either because the player decides against Arsenal, Arsenal decide against the player, the two clubs can’t agree a fee, or the newspaper or website made the whole story up in the first place in order to fill up space and give the reader the wholly false impression that the media have the slightest idea of what is going on.

So it is quite possible, based on previous accuracy levels, that none of these players will actually be coming to Arsenal.

And just before we get to the list here are a couple of other tales doing the rounds:

Football London (known as FoLo in the chart below) is telling us that Jesus not scoring is a “worrying trend” which is rather odd when one remembers that Arsenal are the second highest scoring team in the league (as well as being five points clear at the top of the table).

Meanwhile Caught Offside report than Man City have now set new club rule regarding future transfers to Arsenal – which is that the club “will not sell any more first-team stars to Arsenal after helping the Gunners form a title challenge by allowing two of their stars to move to the Emirates over the summer.”  One might ask a) if that is likely and b) if it is true, that the story should uniquely leak out to Caught Offside.

And Kevin Kilbane (the ex-Ireland international) has said that Matt Turner who plays for the USA (as well as Arsenal) is “not top class“:    So now we know.

Here’s the list of transfers.

  1. Funny thing waltching the England – Iran game. The other day, some deadwood journalst published a piece advising the manager to unleash his forward line, named 3 players, but not Saka……

And today he scores a brace….

Deadwood journalists that’s all they are
