Palace v Arsenal: the injuries and their recent years in the PL

Arsenal v Crystal Palace: a history in videos

By Bulldog Drummund

Selhurst Park Holmesdale Stand.jpgThe games against Crystal Palace go back to 1934 – an FA Cup match, while league games started in 1969.  Arsenal have won 28, Palace have won five and 15 have been drawn.

However since the end of the 2016/17 season they have become rather a pesky bunch, and over the last eight league games the results have been…

  • Arsenal: 2 victories
  • Draws: 4
  • Crystal Palace: 2 victories

Indeed Arsenal have not won any of the last five Premier League games against Crystal Palace.

However although they are conventionally considered to be a Championship team having a run in the Premier League, their results since returning to the top division have given them decent finishes.

*Unfinished, rather obviously

They are currently 13th and it would take an unlikely set of results for them to end up anything lower than 14th.  They could end up as high as 11th.  So it is pretty much an average season for the club.  They currently have the 18th smallest ground – Fulham and Burnley are smaller.

So they have no worries and nothing to play for except to give their retiring manager a nice send off.

In terms of injuries they are near the top of the league table and we are near the bottom.  The tables are showing us with three men down, but in reality it is only one or two

We have seen family issues at Arsenal, but two at once when there are a lot of other injuries around is a bit of a bore.

We’ll have the rest of  the news and the team predictions shortly.
