Mike Dean was the ref and he put in a shocker. More specifically, he made one incredibly shocking call.
In the fourth minute, Ba was through on goal when Luiz pulled him down. It was an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and Luiz was the last defender. It cannot be rationally explained but Mike Dean only cautioned the Chelsea defender with a yellow card. The rules are obvious. Either Dean doesn’t blow the whistle for the foul or he does blow the whistle and he must send off Luiz.
Newcastle boss, Alan Pardew, was furious about it, and for good reason – Chelsea would have had to play almost the entire match a man short. Moreover, even though Chelsea scored a first half goal, Newcastle came close to equalising several times throughout the match, hitting the woodwork a couple of times, and then only conceding 2 late goals in the final minutes of the match.
Dean’s overall performance was a rather low score of 70.45%, and even though Dean robbed Newcastle by not sending off Luiz, wrong decisions actually favoured Newcastle by 9 to 5.
Sack the useless nerd!
How does Dean get away with a shocking decision like that! Surely is there any other explanation for such other than IMPUNITY? Other: Boxing day’s Sunderland vs Everton, Howard Webb (supposedly the best ref in the world) gives a NON-EXISTENT penalty to the latter!! Man U vs Wigan, Phil Dowd (yes, him) incredibly sends off a Wigan player, straight, for virtually nothing, then later on gives Man U a penalty for an outside the box foul (yes, the Phil Dowd who didnt give us a stonewall penalty against Man City when Richards handled). Are we so helpless?
