Halfway the game I thought he would get a low score. His first half was acceptable but still a few issues I saw that I couldn’t agree with. Maybe the fact that after the first half his wrong calls were a 5-0 score in favour of Chelsea could have something to do with this feeling. But in the second half he was excellent. Just 3 wrong calls in that half and a bit more even in those calls. But still Villa end up at the very wrong end of the decisions.

But he got most of the calls correct and got a rather high score and in the important decisions he scored a perfect score in the second half. Always nice to see this especially from an older ref in this time of the season.

But a good final score from the ref in this game in all parts we count and a very high score in the important decisions if we look at the whole game.

One Reply to “Untold Ref Review: Chelsea 1 – Aston Villa 3. A ref of two halves.”

  1. I would love it if we get such a high score in our games. We don’t need referee’s favours but just the correct calls.

I have a question for you-
about 3rd min foul by dunne on ramires. if it was a foul, and referee has given it, it shouldn’t go against referee just because he missed the previous foul. You have already cut his points.
It doesn’t make sense to tag him twice for one miss.
I feel, as a reviewer you should see every event unattached to the previous one or the final outcome. It will give a fairer and more reliable review.
