6 Replies to “So far 72 players have been tipped by the media to be coming to Arsenal. Here’s the full list.”

  1. I love the way we are apparently “disrespectful” to Celtic just because we won’t pay the first figure they mention. It’s almost as if the media want to bad mouth as whatever we do…………….

  2. You are right Mikey.
Contrast the sort of negative comments we get to those that Spurs get. If it was Levy it would be described as shrewd negotiating tactics.
Same as being insulting to Palace for our opening £40 million bid. Apparently they are incensed, insulted and outraged by our bid, and rightly so according to the pundits. I think the outrage should be directed at Palace for the utterly ludicrous amount they want for Zaha who’s transfer value is listed as 45 million euros on Transfermarket, coincidently the amount we have offered. Not only that you would think that Palace would be far from enraged but pleased we have offered only £45 mil, given that they say they do not really want to sell him. But no, as usual we are the villain of the piece.

  3. Do we actually know for sure that we have offered anything for Zaha?

Every year we get these reports about how much we have offered for so many players.

Surely we all know by now that we should not take notice of any of these claims.

I would be interested to hear from supporters of other clubs as to whether their club is the subject of persistence fake rumours as we are.

  4. Micky/MickHazel

    And this is the thing.

At work I had a trainee put with me. The first thing he said to me was, “You’re an Arsenal fan aren’t you mate”

    Indeed, I said.

    “Me too” he said.

The third thing he said was the very reason this constatnt Arsenal abuse continues, and will continue.

He said: “Have you seen that embarrasing offer we’ve put in for Zaha”. No I said.

    “What an embarrasment”

    That’s it right there.

I did ask him to explain “Why was it an embarasement”

“Because they’ll never sell him for that”

I asked “And YOU know this how”?

And so it went on until he conceded that “no we shouldn’t just pay what they ask” and “Yes I suppose it’s all just part of how you start a negociation”

    Small victories I suppose.

But it’s his initial reaction to just swallow the ’embarrasment’ line, that is so telling.

So many of our OWN fans simply buy into all this shite.

If Talkshite say we are an embarrasment then we are an embarasment.

If Talkshite say we have the most injuries then we have the most injuries.

And so it goes on and on and on.

I’ve posted on here many times about being told how the remit to editors is ‘negative’ Arsenal stories sell.

And the reason it sells is because I’m sad to say far too many of our fans swallow this shite, hook, line and sinker.

    Sad but true I’m afraid.

  5. Nitram – some fans are newspaper fans; some are TV fans; some are just glory hunters but most try to get some information before Arsenal release it and end up embarassed.

Patience is the mother of all virtue and the virtuous know.

  6. Sir Hardly

You missed one. I think Lionel Messi was seen at Heathrow sometime in the last decade.
