The top six Arsenal stories doing the rounds today

By Sir Hardly Anyone

Here we are again.  And before we commence with the commencement let us recall what was said yesterday.  For on that day around this time the top five stories were

1: Elneny is an undroppable.

2.  What Pochettino said about Arsenal and Tottenham

3.  The magic of Nikolaj Duus Moller – our new signing

4.  Rio Ferdinand reminds everyone what he said about Arsenal player earlier this year
5.  Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta warned he has made a mistake following Thomas Partey signing

Now if you missed any of those and need to have the details they can all be found on our note of 24 hours ago.

But as they say, that is all yesterday’s news.  What you might want, but on reading it might realise you perhaps don’t actually need is today’s run of Arsenal stories.

Here we go with the top five…

1: Alan Shearer says Arsenal have made ‘another impressive signing’ besides Partey

A fairly simple piece from The Boot Room noting that Gabriel Magalhaes has been named in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.  Important I guess if you consider Alan Shearer to be important and his comments to be worthy of note

2: Forget Pepe: Arsenal must unleash “special” talent who could be Arteta’s game-changer

FootballFanCast have this story about Reiss Nelson saying “With Nicolas Pepe and Willian still struggling to find consistency in their game – they have scored just two goals in 18 games between them – surely Nelson can be afforded more regular opportunities to impress.”

3.  Campbell Exclusive: Arsenal tipped to sign Celtic star after release clause reveal

This time it is Football Insider that has the news, telling us that “Arsenal have been tipped to sign Celtic star Odsonne Edouard as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

Apparently Kevin Campbell, now no longer encumbered by work at Southend United who has been saying that the player is a potential “great addition”.

4.  Some fans urge Arteta to start Arsenal player for the first time on Thursday

HITC announce that “Arsenal fans are calling for Folarin Balogun to make his first ever start on Thursday evening.”

5:  Neville suggests Thomas Partey wasn’t Arsenal’s best bit of transfer business

It is not much of a piece from the Mirror but for what it is worth Gary Neville is saying that Gabriel Magalhaes, suggesting he is Arsenal’s best bit of summer transfer business.

Now is that news.  I mean really?  G Neville says bananas are bendy and yellow.  G Neville says that footballs are round  things.   Does it honestly make any odds?

  1. Are Arsenal now in the January transfer mode for the media to start speculations on Arsenal doing upgrades in their first team squad? Okay I understand, it is some football pundits that are making punditry on Arsenal in the media comparing some of the individual players talents and qualities they have to one another in the senior team who Arsenal signed in the last summer transfer window.

But is this comparison notably between Thomas Partey and Gabriel Maglhaes necessary, as these Gunners have their different roles to play in the team? Maglhaes was signed to principally provide protection for the Gunners goalkeeper Benrd Leno from conceding goals. While he at some occasions he does also attacking support work in the team by coming out forward to the opposition team’s box/area to attack the ball to score for Arsenal.

But Partey’s primary job in the team is to defensively shield Maglhaes and his back-three or back-four defense-line colleagues from been reached or breached to score by the opposition team players. And also to create chances in creativity for his team mates to score and stop the opposition team players by intercepting them in their playing from encroaching into Arsenal half of the field.

On a different topic that is not related to footballi but the ongoing 2020 US Presidential Election, president Donald Trump who on the score-board has scored 214 Electoral College Votes as against his rival Presidential candidate Joe Biden 264 Votes has resorted to making litigation threats to stop further ballots counting of the Election according to the electronic media reports I’ve heard and watched. But which if he continues to pursue will see him scuttle the results of the election for what looks to be he wants to hold on to the White House at all costs using litigation making that is opened to him to explore to achieve his holding on to the Oval Office for anobba four-year term.

But my concern is what kind of new democracy in the signal of it that president Trump is signaling to the African countries to start emulating it when they hold Presidential Election in future? Us Africans have seen and known fully well that many African country politicians can ve dishonest when it comes to political office power getting. And they could start pointing to this particular 2020 US Presidential Election as an example to justify their unjust electoral manipulations to win in thei positions whenever Presidential Elections are conducted and they happen to want to rig the outcome results of Elections that are looking will not favour them but be to their favour even as they are losing the Election to the opposition candidates.

To douse tension in the land and allow rest of mind and harmony to reign I think president Trump should humble himself in grace but not in disgrace by accepting the results of the Election as they are being declared. And congratulate his rival candidate as it is customarily done by the defeated candidate in the US Presidential Election if Biden wins the Election.
