West Ham v Arsenal injury news, line up and transfer update

By Bulldog Drummond

Physioroom currently has Arsenal top of the league table for injuries alongside West Ham United, each club on nine injured players.

But a closer look at the figures suggests that a fair number of these players should be avaialble for selection for Arsenal in the West Ham game.  Indeed while WHAM, as we may perhaps call them, just for the sake of it, has two players thought to be ready for the weekend, we have four listed.  And some sites are suggesting that this number could rise to six.

Mustafi, Ozil, Bellerin and Monreal are agreed by most sources to be fit and raring to go.   On Koscielny and Mavrapanos there are differences of opinion – but I suspect there both players will be eased back gently because of the length of their injury and in Koscielny’s case, his age.

As for the rest, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is said to be expected back in full training in February, but of course Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck will not be seen again this season.  Indeed as Danny is out of contract in the summer he might not be seen again in Arsenal colours.

Meanwhile there is a lot of excited chatter about Ramsey wanting to collect Italian League Winners’ medals – although the media (not wanting to suggest that any football tournament is a foregone conclusion before it starts) don’t quite put it like this.

But Juventus, having won the league title seven times in a row are racing certainties to win the title yet again this year.  Ramsey already has three FA Cup Winners’ medals – far more than most professional footballers obtain – but clearly wants some more.

The current table in Italy reads

Team P W D L F A GD Pts
1 19 17 2 0 38 11 +27 53
2 19 14 2 3 37 17 +20 44
3 19 12 3 4 31 14 +17 39
4 19 9 5 5 28 21 +7 32

So they might actually make it to an unbeaten season.  In 2011/12 they became the first team in Italy to have an unbeaten season under the current 38 game format.  (Milan did it in 1991/2 under a 34 match season).

Lots more medals therefore for the Ramsey sideboard, but I’m not too sure how much it means when one teams wins the league every season.

Elsewhere the chatter continues as with…

“Unai Emery responds to Yannick Carrasco’s come-and-get-me plea” from the Metro (owned by the Mail group).

And

“Unai Emery ‘gives green light’ for Arsenal to sign Yannick Carrasco” from the Mirror.co.uk owned by Reach.

Both are wingers so it is unlikely that both will be true, but I suspect we are now seeing each major newspaper group having its own stories, rather than just copying each other’s.

Yannick Ferreira Carrasco we have mentioned before; the Belgian player who plays as a winger for Dalian Yifang.   Suarez is of course old news, but still he gets the headlines as with “Suarez tells FC Barcelona he wants Arsenal move – report” in The Sport Review this morning.

But back to the players we have.  Sportbank join with many in giving us a lineup for the WHAM game of

Iwobi, Lacazette, Aubameyang

Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles

Koscielny, Sokraitis, Bellerin

Leno

Those who go for a different lineup for this game mostly do so by including Mustafi and Monreal in a back four with Bellerin and Sokratis and then having a midfield of  Xhaka, Torreira, Ozil.

  1. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11602915/ole-gunnar-solskjaers-toughest-test-as-manchester-united-boss from a what perspective. The semantics and Utd fans on Pick, the ideology of a club, raid a direct rival doing well. SPURS are so.much better? Defensively yes, GK no, midfield no, attack, not really bookmakers what?

From an ars3nal perspective, I expect they could tale points off Liverpool and Spurs, do well enough in the CL. F9 they have Chelsea to come? I still think it’s a tall order, but I’m seriously exp3ctong Hazard the way things are at Real and Josè who knows him well, then again, he did testify against him, then again Josè wanted to get paid. What’s that 20 what million. No campaign then. Pigba is a fool, Fergus sold him for a reason.

What is working is that he knows that club inside out and exactly what one of the greats did and even got him off the b3nch to bag plenty, the baby faced assassin.

    Ex players.

What who was Hoping the other day? TONY!?!?! He has flopped at every medium test going, he can’t man manage and doesn’t get English football. Pro took a year to get it spot on buybthey were good bone the less, he was missing the personnel and what he wants was not ingrained, he inherited Man in and Peelegrini the former buying well and allowing ecpr3ssion and freedom and a good atmosphere, unsustainable, Ole! And Mancini died for his adopt3d black son, very Wenger honourable.

So Date I called out Oliver and correctly with evidence, nice. Clear attempt to undermine VAR from the V assistant R and Oliver got caught up in it how many yards 3as he away from the play, not many.

What’s that a QC for the league? Ramsey got an explanation, what you were POTY and do we arr sellong yoy to fund the battery amplification.
    Let’s look at that!

First graphic in the link, says he’s as good as Oxol and I agree and younger. And has been here near since birth football terms. Longest serving.

Hold on wait, Brexit, so what happened yesterday? So they have around 40 days to have an election, or I end the show and either way, Corbyn inherits seeing me a buck and paying and I begin reform on his ass.

Would he even try and pull the plug of he son, and if you look at the vote yesterday and say a few abstained on both sides, it’s as O said, he doesn’t have the clout to win an election alone and needs very opposition party to suport him. I said it to all parties bar the Elsh of Plied I’m not speelong Welsh.

But if y9u anfbthe cpnservatov3s that didn’t vote, back in and DUP. CONSERVATIVE could win again.

    The racism is toxic.

Some random psychotic who is deluded.

So much happier without Untold and the negativity thay has come about. I’ll tale the original name though! Tony?!

Actually happier not kovkong every ball.

Apparently after 9 directly gave Unai a bashing and formations he went 4-3-1-2 you likedbthat right.

And apparently if you talk to some personnel right, they respond and may even use media to demonstrate as much.

Yeah! I’ll leave the boffins with th is footnote, assortment and antigenic shifts.

What you would need is a…..?

I’m gonna get back to relaxing in this final window as my future plays out. Ots the perfect storm, and I saw it on the wing of one butterfly.

    TRY A indeed creating stars.

  2. Oh and The Arsenal boss said last week he wanted a centre-back and a winger, with an upcoming FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Manchester United and a Europa League last-32 tie against BATE Borisov next month.

But after spending more than £70m on Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi, Emery conceded the winter window will be much more frugal from Arsenal

Puppet, so you guys we didn’t need a CB? Not a winger? And wow we’ve had no left back for half a season. Not on purpose? He can buy Arsenal but can’t invest in it another £40m, to jave us set sp no nee integration from external sources next season.

    Yeah anyways.

  3. It’s so odd.

The other day I read one of the nicks (?) saying how bad/mad it would be if the owners “didn’t put their hand in their pockets’” and stomp up some arbitrary amount (£40 Milion I think it was) and buy player x y or z or else we’re looking at a catastrophe.

What do these people not understand about a ‘self sustaining model’ ?

Jeez its been declared as our model for how many years now ?
