The Brickfields Gunners: A REAFFIRMATION OF FAITH

.
From the Brickfields Gunners
.
Following the great response I received for my article FITNESS TO PRACTICE  ABSOLUTE AND TRUE AKBISM at  http://untold-arsenal.com/archives/53159, and being totally  bored out of my skull during this interlull, I felt it was a good time to call the faithful to the fore.
As the opening day of the season gets close and closer, I started to get that old familiar feelings of hope and positivity, which normally afflicts me around this time. Well for the most part I am a positive person, but the season’s opening day game are always special.
So without much ado, and as the hope in my heart springs eternal, here we go into the new season with this,
                            AN   AKB’s  OATH –  A  REAFFIRMATION  OF FAITH .
I do solemnly vow, both to Arsenal FC  , and most especially to Arsene Wenger  whom I value and hold most dear:
That I will honour the staff, be just and generous to its members, and help sustain them in their service and support of this great club.
That just as I have learned from those who preceded me, so to will I instruct those who follow me in all their loyalty and fidelity.
That I will recognise the limits of my knowledge and pursue a lifelong  of learning to better myself and my peers.
That I will seek the counsel of others when they are more expert so as to fulfil my obligation to those who are entrusted to my care;
That I will not withdraw from my fellow AKBs in their time of need; most notably when we are once again gypped by the PIGMOB !
That I will lead my life and practice my support with integrity and honour, using my AKB powers most wisely;
That whatsoever I shall see or hear of the lies  and untruths regarding my beloved club that is not fitting to be spoken, I will keep in confidence , or totally disregard and never to transmit nor share  it in any way.
That into whatever  or whomsoever’s house, website or blog  I shall enter, it shall be only with good intentions  towards  the club and manager .
That I will maintain this sacred trust, holding myself far aloof from wrong, from corrupting, from the tempting of others to vice;
That above all else I will serve the highest interests of my fellow Untolders  through the practice of sincerity and truthfulness.
That I will be an advocate of justice for those injured and perjured against by ‘them’, and  shall strive for retribution  and restitution.
I now turn to my calling, promising to preserve its finest traditions, with the reward of a long experience in the joy of supporting this club .
And  may God grant me a long life, and the strength and stamina as well, to sustain me in bashing ‘them’ to my heart’s content .
That I will always,  “WOO HOO, HOO ! ” and say, ” Up the Gunners !” on every post on Untold Arsenal as an affirmation of my pleasure and approval .
I make this vow freely and upon my honour.  And not caring an iota  nor  a sh*t for what ‘them’ fools think or believe .
Signed
???
The Brickfields Gunners .
( Sincere apologies to  Hippocrates , from whose Oath  this oath is largely and almost entirely based. Am most assuredly sure that he would approve.  And most probably cheering the Arsenal on from Mount Olympus . Just like the other gods there, he too has given up on Greek football! )

  1. Any match preview today lads? Kick off is at 7pm. I’ll be working but was looking forward to a little preview without having to go to ANY other football site.

    All the best

  2. We all suspect that Arsenal must win PL this season for it to continue growing, and for AW to be at the helm again next year they should do it in (the Arsenal) style.

I suspect it will be up and downs per usual, so hold on tight and don’t fall off at the passionate(some not so) cries for “change”, after all, it’s change that makes progression.

So with all that said, looking forward to seeing some real football again, in 5 hours to be exact. 🙂

  3. Brickfields

I give vocal and written support and in the past have travelled miles to stand or sit and watch people whom I do not know have never spoken to and who have no idea of my existence on planet earth.

In this support for total strangers am I behaving normally or is this a mental disorder? If the latter is there a medical term for this mental disorder, if so what is it?

  4. Follow the 12 Laws of Karma and have an enjoyable season .

What you refuse to accept, will continue for you.

  5. @ colario July 22, 2016 at 1:31 pm – Charles , as far as I can tell by my limited experience , it is normal to want to support something or someone , even if you fully well know that there may not be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ! Nor any reflected glory .

Treatment is probably only required when you take joy in abusing said something or someone without any logical reason . And more so if they can’t hear you !

  6. 5.THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY –
We must take responsibility what is in our life. And appropriating the blame correctly.

A man woke up in the morning deeply repentant after a bitter fight with his wife the previous night. He noticed with dismay the crate of beer bottles that had caused the fight.

He took it outside and started smashing the empty bottles one by one onto the wall.
He smashed the first bottle swearing, “you are the reason I fight with my wife”.
He smashed the second bottle, “you are the reason I don’t love my children”.
He smashed the third bottle, “you are the reason I don’t have a decent job”.

When he took the fourth bottle, he realized that the bottle was still sealed and was full. He hesitated for only a moment and said “you stand aside, I know you were not involved”.

  7. Am not sure in which country this is the ascribed and accepted method !

    Sex techniques during Pregnancy

Man asks his doctor, “Can I have sex with my pregnant wife?”

The doctor replied: “Yes. The first 3 months will be just like normal the next three months you should do it like dog and the last three months you should do it like tiger.”

The man replies: “Tiger? I don’t know that method.”

The doctor explains : “Like Tiger Woods. Sleep with other women.”

  8. Ubuntu! Captain Brickfields, may the faith be with you and all those that follow the oaths in the world of Arsenal support!

  9. Thank you Brickfields.

I like your diagnosis so I wont bother getting a second opinion. 🙂 🙂

  10. Kenneth Widmerpool – July 22, 2016 at 2:13 pm – Thanks . We , the faithful are after all being reminded constantly that that we are deluded and (allegedly ) insane for not listening to the experts ! Very much like Lenny , here….

Lenny tells the psychiatrist, “Every time I get into bed, I think there’s somebody under it.”

“Come to me three times a week for two years, and I’ll cure your fears,” says the shrink. “And I’ll charge you only $200 a visit.”

Lenny says he’ll think about it. Six months later, he runs into the doctor, who asks why he never came back.

“For $200 a visit?” says Lenny. “A bartender cured me for $10.”

    “Is that so! How?”

“He told me to cut the legs off the bed.”

  11. I solemnly declare that I will be faithful and give my true total support to Arsenal FC board, the manger and his backroom staff and also my unrivaled backing to the Gunners during their next season campaign in all competitions.

And at no time will I fail during the next session’s campaign to use my twitter account handle to pass my thoughts and opinion on any Arsenal match they will be playing to the Boss and to the Gunners on their match days before kickoff, at halftime and at the end of the match.

  12. @ SAA – Do send them your best wishes and prayers , to inspire them .

  13. Am sharing a Masonic poem that a Brother sent me . Just enjoy the message.

    I SEE YOU’VE TRAVELED SOME
    Author Unknown

Wherever you may chance to be
    Wherever you may roam,

    Far away in foreign lands;
    Or just at Home Sweet Home;

    It always gives you pleasure,
it makes your heart strings hum

Just to hear the words of cheer,
    “I see you’ve traveled some.”

When you get a brother’s greeting,
And he takes you by the hand,

It thrills you with a feeling
    that you cannot understand,

You feel that bond of brotherhood
that tie that’s sure to come

When you hear him say in a friendly way
    “I see you’ve traveled some.”

And if you are a stranger,
    In strange lands all alone

If fate has left you stranded
Dead broke and far from home,

    It thrills you–makes you numb,
When he says with a grip of fellowship,
    “I see you’ve traveled some.”

And when your final summons comes,
To take a last long trip,

    Adorned with Lambskins Apron White
    and gems of fellowship

The tiler at the Golden Gate,
With square and rule and plumb

Will size up your pin and say “Walk In”,
    “I see you’ve traveled some.”
